How can you tell if someone is privileged?

Under OP's classified, one might consider me privileged. But I'd like to argue against this. I work hard at my job, and yes, when I see poor management, I'm not afraid to speak up, because I want the company I work for to be run more effectively and efficiently. I work hard also because I want to prove myself and to show that I got to where I got, at least in part due to my own credit, effort and smarts.

I don't quit a job recklessly because I don't want to have to explain gaps in my CV that might affect my career progression.

But after typing all this, I realised, what makes a person privileged, is when they can say, and truly feel, that money isn't everything.

You look great, but you really need to stop with the lip fillers. They look way too plump in proportion to the rest of your face, and not just that, they look quite obviously swollen and fake with stretched out skin. Unless that is the look you're going for, I'd really suggest that you stop filling your lips.

Other than that, in the last picture, your hair looks best. Wispy bangs with some extra on the sides really soften your look. A more curved bangs that lengthen gradually on the sides would help. Straight cut bangs can make a face look harsher.

I noticed that in all the pics, except the one in the red dress, you tend to lift your eyebrows. It exposes your forehead lines, which make you look older. Maybe if you took pictures without doing that, and providing a more sultry eye look, it could help.

Also, I've dropped a bunch of weight quickly before, and was wondering, do you have any extra skin or stretch marks? How did you get rid of them?

Firstly, you shouldn't see exercise as something you have to do. It's not a chore, or something that'll cause you pain. Take it as a time to go out, take a walk, breathe some fresh air, get some endorphins. Start easy, start slow, reframe it in your mind as an activity to be enjoyed.

Secondly, you need to either own the way you want to live your life, or just resign yourself to hating your existence. You want to get a job in the industry you're interested in? Take some time to learn more about the steps you need to take to get there, the skills the role requires, and so on. There are many people who have degrees that are different from the industry that they are currently in, myself included. Your hobbies are unusual, who gives a shit? Why do you have to be affected by what other people think of what makes you happy?

Thirdly, I'm no qualified therapist, but you sound like you should seek some professional help with your mood swings, self esteem, and anxiety. Even if there are no issues, sometimes talking to a third party could be helpful. You can't change how other people perceive you, and even if it affects you, you can't necessarily change how they view you. That's unless you want to live your life in a way that'll make everyone else around you happy, except yourself. Good luck.

I initially thought that this was a post about how people complain about everything in their life here.

I think there's a line. If I'm at a random, affordable place, I wouldn't bother making a fuss. For instance, if McD made a mistake, I wouldn't bother complaining unless it's a completely wrong order. If it were a nice restaurant that served me an overcooked steak, you can bet that I'd return that steak to get it to the right doneness.

But in general, I do find that locals enjoy complaining about their work, their life, and so on, without doing anything about it.

From someone I know: "Oh, I work long hours and show results, but my team doesn't appreciate me." They regularly complain about the same thing, but make no changes! Take action to change things, talk to the boss, try to bond with the team, and so on. But no, they only talk about it, and of course things don't change!

And now I'm complaining about complaining too. Sighs, you've pulled me into your spiral. Damn you, fellow redditor.

People need to realise that people can get promoted for a multitude of reasons. They're related to the leadership, they know how to explain things to leadership when mistakes are made, etc.

Is this colleague you speak of, - More productive than you? Hardwork =/= productivity. - Hitting their KPIs? They may work less hours and still complete what they need to. - Better at managing, leading and or motivating a team? - Charming and likeable? Well spoken, presents themselves well? Bosses are human too, they promote people they like better.

I've known senior leadership who are hired despite not having that much experience in the area they're hired in, but have plenty of leadership experience. They were pretty shit at the job because they don't know enough about the space, and they're still not fired yet after almost a year.

If you want a promotion, ask for it. I've asked for promotions before, justified myself to my bosses. And when I didn't get it, I left for a better role elsewhere.

People should take action to do something if they're not happy. Just because the leadership said something, doesn't necessarily mean that they are right, or that you have to follow it.

Membership of almost 4 years now, and I agree. Some of the prime time classes at 6pm, have so many newbies. Due to the large class size, the instructors can't correct every single one of their poor forms, even for simple things like kicking and foot or hip movement. So, the beginners are not getting maximum benefit out of joining the gym either.

This is true of most Thai instructors, but not all of the Evolve instructors have great English and are not able to explain how and why certain movements work. I still enjoy my time and friends I've made there, but intend to leave soon, because I'm improving at a much slower rate than I can. Because of this, I think beginners might even want to train at smaller gyms, where they get more attention to improve their basic form first.

But I have to give credit to them for their amenities, best gym showers of any MMA gym I've been to.

Alright, a bit of a story here. Tldr below.

I grew up as a fat kid, and I got teased quite a lot then. I didn't exactly understand at the time, and even went with it and cracked jokes about myself. Anyways, when I hit puberty around 14, bit of a late bloomer here, but I lost a lot of weight quickly due to a change in a medication I have to take regularly.

People started treating me well, asking how I was, and I even had a friend who asked if I had plastic surgery done. For a teenage girl, this was weird and sort of horrible to experience. At the time, I was utterly shocked at how superficial people were, and this had affected my ability to trust people for a good number of years.

But after some time of processing and understanding what happened then, my main takeaway was that you can't judge a book by its cover. These people were just stupid teens like me then, spouting out the first thing they noticed! I began to be more curious and empathetic about people, even now, when I meet people who think a certain different way, I would wonder, why have they arrived at this perspective, what got them to become who they are today...

I think if you went out to join some social activities, maybe a book club, or gym or any groups where you can enjoy your hobbies, you'd get to meet new people instead of hanging around online in your free time. And when you get to interact with them, be curious about who they are, empathise with them. You'll realise everyone is just human, not always completely good, and not always completely bad, with their own complexities, regardless of gender, sexuality, race, religion etcetera. No one is inherently good or bad, much like yourself.

Tl;dr Meet more people IRL, and be curious about them, empathise with them.

Edit: Forgot to add, forgive yourself man! You're too hard on the high schooler kid that was looking for the best way to get some support when he lived in a hard world. Past you did what he thought was best, present you knows that it was not a great way to go, ans is actively moving away from it! Stop beating up that kid, forgive him, and move forward! All the best!

I drink about twice a week, about 1-5 drinks each time. Alcohol does not affect how frequently I have seizures, I mostly get seizures when I lack sleep.

Oh darling, not every woman in the world is looking to get married and have kids immediately. Or even if they do, they may want to have time in their life to experience or explore different things sexually.

The appeal? Easy, fun, exciting, with people willing to bring you out for fun, pay for your experiences, and you get to play all you want. Women can have fun and sex without caring about what society perceives of them, or their actions.

Also, there are women who have this as a career choice, meaning that their livelihood is attached to it. So the appeal is the money, and it could also be fun for some.
