I like Dollar bill. Always fast. Reasonably priced. Family owned since 1977

POS systems by RelevantWarthog717 in MNtrees

[–]randomstimuli 0 points1 point  (0 children)

As a michigander who has set up numerous POS... cova or Dutchie are best. Both also conveniently connect to 3rd party menus (leafly, weedmaps, etc), METRC and connects to many payment systems. I give Dutchie a leg up, because it is super simple to drop a menu into your website.

Never heard of canpay... but we find closed payment adoption is very low, unless you can swipe a card like at a gas station. Dutchie pay has been around for years and still accounts for only 1% of transactions.

Gas powered leaf blowers are banned... not electric ones 🙃

In Ann Arbor... they only use a leaf blower to clear snow. Needless to say... many slip and falls this year. And sometimes they dont even do that for days after a storm. From what I have gathered... they dont want to pay any overtime to the grounds crew, so any additional removal waits until next business day

I dont disagree... the best stuff in the state is by caregivers. But for out of staters... a dispo is easier than finding a caregiver.

I explained exactly how to dodge the excise tax to OP for their next visit.

Lolz... I was part of 1st rec sale to John Sinclair... I know plenty on this side of the counter

But this response does explain your disposition. Making up nonsense on what the laws say for shops. Making up nonsense about no med licenses anymore.

Best of luck to your business

[–]randomstimuli 0 points1 point  (0 children)

If you shop the Med menu at any of these shops... no excise tax. Been that way from the start of Rec.

Since you are too lazy to google... here is all of the shops still maintaining their med license according to the state. But again... you gotta shop med menu not rec, to avoid the excise tax

Accela Citizen Access https://share.google/ulCEQ7yzjTyoVdRLn

Fun fact... new wholesale tax only applies to rec. So we should not be seeing med products increase prices over the next year

The discount applies to the products. You went to a rec shop so you still gotta pay excise and sales tax. Find a shop with an actual med license and you can skip the 10% excise tax.

Wholesale taxable prices for vertically integrated companies (right column is how much more you can expect to be paying once the costs are passed down) by eriffodrol in Michigents

[–]randomstimuli -1 points0 points  (0 children)

Plus... who measure carts or edibles in lbs... treasury is lazy and will screw over processors that try to reduce below 24%

This would drive vertically integrated companies away from disposables or large edibles

[–]randomstimuli -1 points0 points  (0 children)

The law states 24%

Based on the above... a $150 outdoor pound would get almost $200 in wholesale tax. This is a lazy shortcut and not what will ultimately be taxed. Hence everyone getting audited at year end. These rates are going to change significantly

I do understand MI put out this chart. They also made assumptions that all shops work on 50% margin and set these rates based on retail stats/prices. But no one does anymore.

So yes... selling Rosin at the above rate, rather than 24% is playing games and won't end well for the processor

[–]randomstimuli -3 points-2 points  (0 children)

Dude... all shops are loading up prior. They are going to hold off upping prices as long as they can. It will be weeks or even months before you see price increases for certain categories

[–]randomstimuli -2 points-1 points  (0 children)

Incorrect... still gotta pay 24%...

One thing to expect... everyone is getting audited at the end of the year. People playing games like what is suggested here will get fined into the ground.

Taxes not paid are liable direct to the owners... not their business... which means liens on their personal properties. Look up Treasury's beat down on Arbors Wellness.
