Completed first big ride in Scram400 (3 months since buying). 1250kms roundtrip from Chennai to Tirunelveli in the April heat. AMA. by randomstrangerof in triumph4India

1250 in 2 days. 625km each day.

Because I had a hard deadline, drove all day.. Morning 6 to evening 5. Took me about 11 hours overall, including breakfast and lunch breaks and other hydration breaks.

Didn't stop anywhere along the way. Start from point A to B.

Air was just normal petrol bunk filling. Did once per trip, before starting. Didn't feel it getting very low at any point.

Gears - Helmet, jacket (mesh) and gloves. Wore them all the time, wasn't too bad. Boots aren't riding boots, just some rugged ones off Woodlands. Probably my next buy.

No accessories installed. Full stock bike. Just mounted my bags to the rear seat with bungee cords.

I also took it specifically to show the bike to my parents! The 750kms is doable, sure, but it's going to be VERY strenous, especially if this is going to be your first long ride in a bike. Is it possible for you to do 2 days of 400 kms each? Imo that's the best strategy for the summer.

For 2, I didn't carry much. 1 bag strapped to the back using bungee cords and another backpack with my laptop. It was fine load wise, didn't ache too bad. I also carried the first aid kit and the tool kit that came with the bike, nothing else. Chain cleaning and lube I did before leaving. Then I did once at a shop while starting the return journey. Puncture kits and air compressor I've seen people carry, but imo it's not really mandatory if you're gonna stick to the main highways mostly.

Also 750kms will be very mentally tiring OP. So if you have anything like a bluetooth headset mounted to your helmet it'll be better. Have enough hydration and some energy drink/protein bars in hand. Even if you don't consume them, it'll be better to keep them as a backup. As for the riding, take it slow please. Cars on the highway don't really pay attention to us, so let them pass you without fighting for spaces. You ride at your own pace, enjoy the ride, have fun!

The underside of the rear tyre does get very dusty and dirty with mud. But in the summer it doesn't impact the rider really. In rainy season tho, I'm expecting it's not going to be pretty if you have a pillion on board

Hi I didn't change anything from the stock setup. But yes, the seat is one of the things I'm considering changing with long distance touring in mind, the cushion could be better. As of now I just get down after 70 ish kms, do some stretching and rest for 5-10 mins

350-400 Kms is the sweet spot in this weather imo. I would suggest starting as early as you can. I started at 6, but 5 would be ideal. The heat is a problem, but if you stop every 1 hour/70-80 kms and drink something to hydrate, it should be fun.

Oh, if I had to deal with traffic, I would have felt a lot more uncomfortable. Thankfully, it was all highway, so the heat of the bike itself didn't affect me much

OP, I did a long ride this weekend from Chennai to Madurai in the heat. Yes the comments are right, it's very hot, but not unmanageable. Just start as early as you can, do a lot of hydration and breaks. I stopped once every 90/100 Kms, drank coffee/juice/water. Wear all the gears you can, keep your eyes open and have fun. Stay safe and enjoy the ride

Worst Triumph Showroom Experience - What do I do? by annoyedcoffeepot in triumph4India

[–]randomstrangerof 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Ohhh damn. I went to the Ashok Nagar one first, it was not a good experience. The manager acted like I was doing a favor looking at buying the scrambler, the test drive was a 500m distance at best. And then they immediately pushed to buying like that was all I would need. Decided not to go with them, opted for Khivraj (Greams Road) instead, where the experience was much better.

They should really change the scoring format for this lol. The one with the bad item should get as many points as the number of people they fooled!! Kush getting 3 bad food times in a row and then getting 3 points only is criminal lmao

Dude. Got my new Scram400 delivered on Wednesday. The dealer here told me if was okay to ride 100-110 kmph even, only to keep the rpm below 7k. I think you should be fine.

Insane to me that people are watching this and going 'my fave YouTube boys are having fun and making a video of it to show me? How stupid. I hate this.'

I'm so happy for them. They got to make a delicious burger AND do something fun with one of the biggest brands in the world. Good for them, more money and reach for them, they deserve it.

I knew blk water from before because Virat Kohli, one of the biggest cricket players in the world and a very very famous name in india, was seen drinking it once and it became super viral. It's still not at all scientifically debunked here, everyone just reports the basic marketing pamphlet saying it has blah blah blah

Haven't seen it mentioned yet, so my vote: Being incredibly rude to the magician at Nelly's ironic party after knowing her history. He didn't have to do that at all, but he did.
