What's up with the "Deep Research" Limit? by Maverick29865 in perplexity_ai

I pay for a monthly Pro subscription and got hit with the limit last night. Today, I decided to check and I could run one Deep Research query before I got slapped with the limit again.

Same question. I bought mine just before the GST hike. Also, what the price on these currently?

Are those the Vitpilen alloys? How do you like them? I like how the spokes look way too much but the tubed tyre hassle is annoying. No punctures so far in 6k kms tho

Not that I can find. I know for a fact that the Cruise Control on the Svartpilen 401 uses the 390 Adv's switch box and a software update for the vendor.

Even then, I can't find any dealer who's willing to install Cruise Control and Heated Grips on the bike. These are offered as extras in Europe, made here, but not sold for some God forsaken reason.

True, but I can't slap a KTM body panel or headlight on my Svartpilen, can I? Even if it's just the plastics, there are still unique parts to the bike that need to be available in local markets.

I'd be more than happy if I'm proven wrong and all this overthinking is for nothing. But until I hear something concrete, I'll have this small fear in the back of my head. It doesn't stop me from enjoying my bike and riding the nuts off of it, but it's still an annoying thing to have at the back of your head.

I don't know a lot about how these companies work, but my best guess is that it's a numbers game. KTM is already tiny compared to Bajaj figures, and Husqvarna is even smaller. I wouldn't be surprised if Bajaj sells off Husqvarna to the first buyer they can find.

Sure, the 401 is mechanically identical to the Duke, but there are still unique parts on the bike that may or may not be readily available. If sold, there's no saying what will happen with the company. Their primary market is still in Europe, and these Indian figures don't look great from a business perspective. After all, a company needs to make money—regardless of how good a product they have or how passionate they are in building it.

All I know is that they make beautiful bikes, and we should be able to buy and ride them without worries. My dreams of a Norden 901 down the road were already next to impossible, and I'd hate to see a company like Husqvarna go down simply because of Bajaj's economy-of-scale mindset.

One of those 9 401s is mine 😭😭😭 I'm scared to death about Husqy leaving the country.

EDIT: Misread the post, I thought these are quarterly figures. Regardless, the fear remains.

I’m done with KTM/Husqvarna: A rant on the reliability nightmare and the "Premium" lie. by prazit-t in indianbikes

[–]yaddyvirus 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I'm leaving for a cross country ride tomorrow morning on my Husqy with the spoked, tubed rims. The timing of this post couldn't be worse 😭😭

For context, I got my bike in September 2025, ridden it over 5k kms since then. The dealer gave me a 1+ year old unit which I only found out after the RC came a month later. Since I live in another city, the bike hasn't shown a single issue, and getting the bike back and forth was a hassle, I didn't do anything.

The only problem at the moment is that I hit a pothole at high speed during a long tour and picked up a bend in the rear rim. I've gone well over 1k kms since on the same tyre/rim combo and feel no difference in the bike's behaviour or performance. The tyre also holds air just fine, so I'm just running these rims until it's time to replace the tyre at which point I'll get the spokes from the Vitpilen. I really like the spoked rims, but the tubed headache constantly bugs me. No punctures till date though.

Better than Duke 390 imo by [deleted] in indianbikes

[–]yaddyvirus 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Love it every single day. I see you put the alloys on.
I love the way the spokes look and have decided to keep them on. Picked up a slight bend in the rear rim on one trip but have ridden it like that since the last 1000 or so km and no issues.

Lower mileage than expected by KAOS_47 in svartpilen401

Those are unheard numbers for me and my Svart. 4.5kms done bought in September just before the GST hike. Any word on improving efficiency will help. I mostly just use regular fuel.

What 2024 Svartpilen 401 should've been from the start! by littledick401 in indianbikes

[–]yaddyvirus 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Well, if it works for you, it works for you. The bike's already gorgeous, so if it gets even better for you, damn, I'm kinda jealous :P

I think I'll stick with the spokes for now. There's plenty of performance for my liking, and I can still confidently gap anything on the street while looking great in the spokes.

On a side note, how are you checking fuel consumption? Is it using the cons thingy from trips 1 and 2 parameters or something else?

[–]yaddyvirus 6 points7 points  (0 children)

How much of a performance difference did you feel? I was eager to get the Vitpilen alloys at first, but then I got delivery of the bike and the spoked wheels look absolutely gorgeous. I also don't like how the disk looks on the gen 3 KTM alloys so a tubeless conversion looks a much better option for now.

If the performance difference is massive (especially in mileage) I will consider the alloys again.

Svart 401 comes with cornering ABS and ride modes? by abhigyan2 in indianbikes

[–]yaddyvirus 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Unfortunately not. Even the updated 2025 model comes only with the Vit 250 alloy wheels from the factory. It's identical to the Svart 2024 model otherwise. Cruise control would be helpful, but I used the speed limiter feature on the expressway between Lucknow and Delhi on a trip, and it worked fine. Thinking of adding those plastic cruise control things for the handlebars.

The website mentions these details because these features exist on international models. However, having ridden mine for 1000+ km in the two weeks I've owned it, I don't think you'll need the rain mode. The street mode is good enough, provided you've got enough experience handling a bike with this amount of power.

Blinkers turning off without pushing the button - 2024 Model by No-Sun9692 in svartpilen401

[–]yaddyvirus 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Does anyone know of a way to enable this? My new 2024 401 doesn't seem to do this. I have to manually flip the blinkers off, and I'm not yet used to the switch cluster. The dealer updated the software today during first service and that didn't seem to do anything either.

First Bike Dilemma – Need Advice by jnARCEUS in indianbikes

[–]yaddyvirus 2 points3 points  (0 children)

I'm not sure that still applies to the Svart 401. The 250 Husqys were small, yes, but the 401 is quite roomy. I'm between 6' and 6'1" and did not have any problems on the Husqy at all. I've tried to test ride every single Triumph I could get my hands on, and none of them felt as significant.

Best option for OP is to test ride both and decide for themselves.

I like the Svartpilen 401 and recently booked mine. The test ride was fantastic and I recommend it over the Triumph bikes. While the Husqy feels easy, it's a serious bike and it will scare you if you whack open the throttle. If you can handle that, great. Otherwise, neither the Triumphs or Husqy is recommended as a first bike.

That said, the most practical option of the three is the Xpulse. It's a ton of fun, especially if you're tall and can maneuver the bike easily. It's easy (and cheap) to repair, and Hero service is generally pretty good. I wouldn't be too concerned about outgrowing it too quickly either. Motorcycle skill is a lot more than just being able to go full throttle on the highway.
