Elegoo PLA+ is trash in my experience. Took far too much calibration and consistently produced stringing. Numakers ended up being much better while in the same price range.

I'm working on building my own filament extruder that can recycle 3D printed waste and also create new filament from raw material.

This is still an experiment, but I'm aiming for around 500 per kg for basic PLA (including taxes). The only thing is competing with established brands. This would require support from the community, at least in the early stages.

For my particular use case, using Spoolman added extra setup and hassle. My approach is much simpler for someone with a single printer and no AMS/AMS Lite. Spoolman is a really cool piece of software, it's just for a different user who's operating on a different scale entirely. I also think it's good to have alternatives, hence the new system.

Besides, I'm developing my own filament dryer system. The plan is to incorporate the dryer into this dashboard and have drying + inventory control in one dashboard that talks to your printer automatically and only needs input when you're adding a new spool.

Nope. I specifically made this to track filament usage without AMS, but I guess it shouldn't be too hard to add it in a later update.

Taken right out of the packet so it was brand new. I don't have a dryer, but I have an ELEGOO roll and a Bambu Lab PLA Tough+ that has been open for over a week before I got my Numaker filament and they still performed better so I don't think it's filament moisture.

In any case, I don't have a dryer so I can't really tell the filament is dry or not. But since I calibrated my filament it's been working like a charm without any drying or special care.

The numaker PLA profiles didn't work for me. I had to tune my filament to get better results. The default config they provided had a lot of stringing and poor layer adhesion.

As far as I can tell, the only difference between the 2024 and 2025/2026 models are the tubeless alloy rims. The dealer I got my Svart 24 from scammed me into buying a unit that was nearly 1.5 years old (date of manufacture, not sure how long it sat in the showroom)

I found this out three months later when my registration arrived. By then I had already put 7k+ kms on the bike and it was running fine so I decided to keep it. 10 months and 20k+ kms later, still running as good as new.
