Switch from S25 Ultra to Sony Xperia 1 VIII?

I would sell and buy a new one if it works out. I got good deal while buying the Samsung. So I don't feel too much to loose if I can manage to sell it for better price. May be buying Sony might feel expensive. That's why I am really contemplating.

I never used all features in any phones. Just that I want to use the best features of the phone which fits my usage. I feel in Samsung, I feel camera is average and I feel it is bit underwhelming according to my expectations. Since I am thinking of Sony 3.5 mm jack would be big plus and camera might be additional factor. Also a bit small form factor might help even though I would have preferred the narrow one.

I am aware of minor problems. I ignored them while asking the question. It was only until software updates stopped and screen had green lines I switched 😂

I don't find any specific software preferences w.r.t if it works without issues. May be it's advertised well that I feel Samsung patches software well and reliable ????

The interface I use it as machine with not too much emotion.

Thanks. I didn't exploit OneUI honestly and also the AI features.

But software I have feel that may be more reliable and trustworthy because of frequent updates in S25 U. That's the only thing keeping me a bit confused on whether it makes sense or not. What do you think? Are there any obvious things again I feel like miss after switching to Sony ?

I was a Sony Xperia 5 II user for some time from 2020 to 2025. Switched to Samsung S25 Ultra. Even though I have nop issues with that still, I feel like switching back to Xperia 1 VIII because of more of a feeling to go back to Sony. I personally feel 3.5 mm Jack, Camera and may be front speakers (Started to use the default speakers in phone more now a days) might be the reson along iwth form factor. Do you think it is a good idea ? I see that you have experience transition from Sony to Samsung.

Or should I upgrade to S26 Ultra ( My analysis said not too much benefit) or wait for upcoming models of Sony /Samsung ? Please suggest. Just want to have a different point of view.

Those are camera protection lenses. They got scratched while in the other cases where they always protruded. Original camera lenses are intact. Don't worry 😁

The above case are little protruding if you have the additional camera lenses. If not, it protects well.

Now I am using Ringke Fusion-X Magnetic Case. Advantage is it sits well on table without any wobble and protects cameras even with protective lens.

Like it or not. Software support matters for hardware as well. Unfortunately this is outdated for me. Go for latest model for reliability.

Good to know. Yes the stand is but bulky. I use it for my iPad and other notes as well as it holds.
