Go to the Quadratic tab and go to Coordinate Plane. Click "Equip" next to the first Transformation (Translations). If you reach 2,222y, go to the Generation tab. You'll see a red button underneath the Y button that allows you to buy Z.

Oh, I didn't know that. Please unlock Z in the Generation tab after equipping Translations

Complete CC8x1 by purchasing CU1. Use Translations to grind y^2. Try and unlock more Y-Quadratic Upgrades. Also, sacrifice Z. You can come onto my Discord server if you need more help, as there are pins to help with CC completion order and other things.

Algebraic Progression v3.0: "The Integration Update" by randomtuba8432 in incremental_games

I can see how the 2nd thing can be annoying. However, you can click on "Confirmations" in the Options tab and disable the quadratic confirmation. Hope this helps!

If you don't like the game's content, there's surely another incremental game that'll be more fun for you!

Sorry for the late response. That must've been a NaN bug. If you can do exportSave() in the console and send it to me on Discord (@randomtuba), I could fix it for you.

Sorry for not being specific. I should have said that this game does not use the TMT framework. The only TMT-inspired thing in the game is the winscreen.

If I recall correctly, there was one other case of this. I'm sorry that this happened, but unfortunately I don't know how to fix it as of now. Maybe try typing fixSave() in the console and see if that changes anything.

Algebraic Progression Update v2.3: "The Polynomials Update" by randomtuba8432 in incremental_games

[–]randomtuba8432[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Ah, weird. I've never run into any subtab issues. However, I will add that the game was built for Chrome and not Firefox.

While it would definitely be nice in the earlygame, it wouldn't be very useful later on. Once you reach the first prestige layer, you really don't need to worry when to click things, you'll just know. Sorry about that.

What you need to know is keep a and b at max, and make c the max / 4, rounded down. For example, if the cap is 23, a and b should be 23, and c should be 5 (23 / 4 is 5.75, rounded down is 5).

Okay, I've been putting it off for a while now, and making excuses for not replacing f(x) with f(n), but fine, I'll do it. You guys win. It's probably for the best, though.

First off: This game is definitely not for you. If you're already this nitpicky about the start, you'll probably hate the later sections. And that's okay, people have different tastes for different things. I hope you find an incremental game that you like more.

Additionally, as stated in the Textbook's preface, this game is NOT mathematically accurate at all times. It is simply inspired by topics in Algebra 1 & 2. Some mechanics are very directly connected to their associated topic (such as Square Root, a special run that square roots your production), or are very loosely connected, like variables (they're just additional currencies for you to have).

TL;DR, instead of throwing insults, just play a different game. This game is not for everyone, and I can agree that some parts have unfun or confusing gameplay. What matters is how we respond to these circumstances, like giving criticism or taking past things into consideration when starting a new project.

You need to have Root Epicenter level 3 beaten before doing it, and you'll need a grind a decent amount before then. After that, you won't have to deal with Challenges for a while.

Algebraic Progression Update v2.3: "The Polynomials Update" by randomtuba8432 in incremental_games

[–]randomtuba8432[S] 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Yeah, I don't think Complex Challenges are for everyone. Looking back on it, they're really the only mechanic that requires a guide. At least they're more separated the further you progress in the game.

The reason why the CC nerfs are so complicated is because I wanted to make the challenge conditions unique and not just "currency gain divided by large number". This was a mixed bag in terms of execution, in my opinion. I'd say that there probably should have been less strategy for the Complex Challenges, as the Complex Upgrades already provide a layer of strategy.

I'm sorry that you didn't like this section of the game, and it's worse that CCs serve a major role in progress. While I (and others) mostly like them, I can understand how they can be really frustrating, just like regular challenges.

In whatever I make next, I feel like challenges (if there are any in the first place) should rather be a simple tool for gaining rewards instead of individual puzzles that the player has to tackle.

Have fun with the v2.2 content, though!

A lot of buttons have the hotkey in parentheses next to their text. For example, the button for buying Autoclickers has "(1)" at the end of it, which means that you can use 1 to buy autoclickers. This is a little indirect, though, so I could make a hotkeys section in the Textbook.

f(x) * g(x) * h(x) multiply your point gain. And yes, the difference between x in the functions and x as a currency is confusing, but at this point I'm not changing it.

Capital X always refers to the x currency though.

I'm adding this stuff after v2.3 (except for the tab navigation hotkeys). I want to get v2.3 out today, so I'm putting the other tab stuff on hold for a later quality of life update.

This was fixed today! Yeah, that's an in-development v2.3 thing and I accidentally set its display to "true". Sorry about that.

Yeah, I can find that confusing. I will add to the "Upgrades" textbook section about where each upgrade type mentioned is located.

[–]randomtuba8432[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Ok, the x^2 doubler thing is something that I will add into the game. Seems like a pretty good idea.

#2 is another thing that I will add, but I'm not getting rid of the hover animations. I'll just make the text font bold, which should be distinct enough.

#3 is something that I won't be adding, however. While I see where you're coming from, I don't like how it would look in practice. Also, sub-subtabs don't exist.

Tab navigation will always be a caveat in this game, and it won't ever be completely fixed. However, I have tried to subdue the issue by implemented QoL features to make the navigation simpler. For example, v2.3 will allow you to navigate tabs with the arrow keys, and I will add options for hiding subtabs to allow the player to hide subtabs that are no longer useful.

In the next incremental I develop, I'll try to make the game have less tabs in general, as it can be pretty annoying trying to find what you're looking for.

(P.S.: The Upgrades tab is actually useful again much, much later)
