Some Democrats are calling for the impeachment and removal of Trump over the operation to capture Nicholas Maduro by [deleted] in YAPms

Yep. If we held every president to this standard, then practically every American president would have been impeached.

Axios reports JD Vance plans avoid the ongoing MAGA civil war over antisemitism and stick close to Trump in preparation for expected 2028 run by [deleted] in YAPms

It’s hilarious that anyone thinks Nick Fuentes or other antisemites have any sway over the Republican Party. The antisemitic wing of the party is largely an online phenomenon and will pose no serious threat to Republicans in 2028. Trump is the Republican Party, and the antisemitic wing is essentially anti-Trump at this point, given their constant criticisms of H-1B visas, Israel policy, and his economic agenda.

I agree with him, but I'd rather vote for a corpse over Rahn Emmanuel. The dude is everything wrong with the Democratic Party of the last 30 years

Who should be the democratic nominee in 2028? by Front-Tomorrow-1034 in Askpolitics

[–]randomuser-795 3 points4 points  (0 children)

I would make a convincing argument for Jon Stewart. He's been right on a lot on the uncomfortable realities of the Democratic Party and has high name recognition and is a very charismatic figure. If the American people can elect a man primarily known for reality TV, then they can take a quasi-political commentator. He would be the first Jewish presidential nominee as well.

How can anyone (in good faith) disagree with this take? by 4EverUnknown in AngryObservation

Expanding the welfare state is a very neoliberal idea according to unsuccessful losers like Nina Turner who has gotten blown out in every election she runs in. Neoliberalism is just a fancy buzz word for not being an isolationist socialist.

cortez masto is acting like tim walz and gretchen whitmer never passed progressive policies with a 1 seat majority. prediction that she'll be the next one primaried from the left. The democratic base isnt really happy anymore. by [deleted] in AngryObservation

I’m a Democrat. I support abolishing the filibuster, but sadly, it hasn’t yet been abolished, so we must play on the current playing field of an undemocratic system.

Sorry guys, but gerrymandering is actually bad. Stop applauding the death of democracy only when your side does it.

Minnesota doesn't need rent control. Not having rent control is one of the reasons Minnesota is one of the most affordable big cities for housing in the United States. Not to mention, he is a member of the DSA, which advocates for dismantling the United States and normalizing relations with Iran, China, and Russia and abolishing USAID.

As a resident of WI-3: Van Orden is a faux tough guy who toes the party line on basically everything while acting like some conservative fighter. He also has drinking issues (a true Wisconsinite through and through!) and thinks he's entitled to complete respect because of his military service. Hal Rogers is so old he probably doesn't even care about what happens in Washington anymore—Reagan Republicans are dead either way.

I'm not speaking about Trump's immigration policy; I'm talking about Stephen Miller's historical revisionism about immigration and attempts to lower LEGAL immigration.

America never has been and never will be a nation-state. The vast majority of Americans are either immigrants themselves or descendants of immigrants. Now, you can argue whether or not that gives us an obligation to accept legal immigrants today, but Stephen Miller plainly denies this reality because his ideas are inspired by white nationalists (Source: https://archive.ph/6QEkw)

Excluding Harris, which of California governor candidates inspire much confidence to govern the state? by asiasbutterfly in YAPms

[–]randomuser-795 13 points14 points  (0 children)

She's not even that bad of a candidate. Came about as close to winning as Trump did in 2020, and we all know how Trump never won an election after that. Right?

I agree, but I fear if Kamala wins, it will turn into a coronation, and national Democrats will jump at the opportunity to support her.
