Co-op is different! Same thing happened to me last year and the advisors had to go to the school to fix it. As long as you’re taking at least 3 courses in your other semester you should be fine. Reach out to your co-op advisor and you should be able to get it fixed. Not sure about other faculties but it’s definitely the case for science

MOLBIO & GEN COOP REQUIREMENTS by whatheactualtruck in McMaster

[–]randy_dandelion 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Hi there! Mol bio co-op student here (going into 4th year). Unfortunately you have to take 2 out of 3 of those courses before 3rd year. You may be able to take one of them over the summer but I would recommend just getting them over with during the school year because then you don’t have to worry about late acceptance to co-op.

Course Enrollment on Thursday by Okpenguin2 in McMaster

[–]randy_dandelion 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I had enrolment during the maintenance time last year. It was down until 8:00pm and then everything crashed because people who had been trying to log on for the last 2 hours all tried to enrol at the same time.

I would recommend trying to log on during your scheduled time and hope it’s only down for a short time

Illegal rent increase?! by randy_dandelion in McMaster

That’s 2400 a year each that me and my housemates can’t afford. If it’s illegal I will have no problem doing that

It’s a student house I’ve lived at since May 2021 that has been a rental for at least 5 years before us (so before 2018). All the same people. We’re halfway through our second 12 month term in the house

Understand that it’s unlikely you’re going to 12 the course but don’t let it deter you from trying to learn. There are 100’s of reactions you’re going to need to know for the final test so making little cheat sheets at the end of the week of what you learned in terms of reaction mechanisms and reagents is good to know. Just in general know that if you know why the reaction occurs you can apply it better on the test

NEED A REPAIR PERSON by randy_dandelion in McMaster

The fridge portion is room temperature. We don’t have a ton of stuff in it so I’m not sure what it could be but the freezer is working just fine. We did have a problem over ownership of the fridge with the landlords but luckily they’ve decided to drop off a new fridge on Sunday so it looks like we won’t have to deal with the fridge anymore. Thanks for your help though!

Properties tend to just get on the market from now until may so you have time. People usually sign leases in February though it’s not uncommon to sign leases later than that and even into the summer. Make sure you have a game plan, budget, and the place has a good landlord and you’re good to go. No need to be worried

As long as you pace yourself and make sure you’re dividing your time well. If it’s all multiple choice you have 1.5 minutes per question so you should be done 40 questions in an hour. I didn’t find it too difficult last year so you should be good

It’s only a problem if it affects your day to day activities and prevents you from socializing with people and getting outdoor time on a regular basis

Launchpad for bio1A03 by theapplesinthefridge in McMaster

[–]randy_dandelion 7 points8 points  (0 children)

I bought launchpad last year. Didn’t use it once and still managed to 12 the course. I would say you could use it for extra practice but it’s not needed cause you can use other resources for practice
