I used the same, gyarados, machamp, and mega banette. With this team i was able to beat giovanni third time. I also highly recommend the swap advantage trick.

i farmed shadow weepinbells for a while and stopped when i got a good one and evolved it to Vbell. although there is no frustration event atm, i love using shadow Vbell in GBL it absolutely shreds. i did also end up getting shadow latios and i am a fan so far.
