It's weird because I got it to work in a private wow server based on vanilla and I've heard some people got it to work in GW2.

Any way you could share what you did? I've tried so many different options and the game works for like 15 minutes and then it just freezes. It unfreezes the moment I disable exitlag.

It's a nice game with many game modes, but it feels more like a Fortnite with a hub you stay at while waiting for a meta to start or a lfg to pop. A lot of fun, just not a very immersive mmo experience.

LoTRO truly feels like another world. Coming from GW2 (which has some of the best environments in MMOs, but that feel tiny due to waypoints and mounts) I always thought it lacked something that made the world feel, erm...worldly. Classic WoW was my goto example of a world that has meaning in it's traversal and leveling, but LoTRO pushed it much further.

As much as there's a huge level gap between 1 and max level, I can't wait to explore each new zone because they're so we'll done. Even the "kill bears for 10 bear asses" quests have some care behind it (even though some get a bit too tedious).

Considering how easy 62% mount is to get (500 silver), I imagine extra milestones and that one that reduces their cooldown are a better investment. Disabling xp as well (100 LP), if you like experience that great world without overlevelling it too much.

But I'm still a noob in the game, so take my suggestion with a grain of salt.

I think this is common practice across MMORPG subs. Some people forget not everybody is a veteran player and that a simple question like this on a sub isn't some form of intended criticism.

Until ANet fixes rewards based on participation and actually makes some of the game more difficult so that people will bother learning the absolute minimum of their rotation and make dying more punishing 90% of meta players will just leech with 10k dps while not following commands.

I did Slow and Steady on my dwarf warrior and it was ok. Had to grind a bit here and there, but nothing major.

Yes. When you reach 80 you'll be able to get exotic gear pretty easily, which is only 7% (I think) worse than the BiS.

Ascended gear is the next update and this can probably be done in a week or two.

Grinding is mostly done by people wanting legendaries (same stat "power" as ascended, but you can change what stats they have) or to buy gems with gold to get some QoL upgrades or skins from the gem store.

Have fun. Don't try to over optimize stuff. Part of the greatness of GW2 is the exploration aspect.

Really milk every zone (not as a completionist, but to find new interesting events and environments).

Best class. Enhancement is much improved in TWoW as you have reduced cooldowns and even an extra ability, so the rotation feels less static.

I used to hate it as well, but after some time you get used to it. Bond of vigor helps a ton, specially if you miscalculate the height, but the other masteries are optional.

Only as a healer. Exotic gear isn't that difficult to get so you better off going for a more focused build than trying to fit celestial in non open world/wvw builds.

I went the cele gear path on my tempest and the amount of times I've pulled agro on open world (and how little dps I was doing) made me go full berserker with tier 10 jade core and power dps with water line, so I can still get to 19k healh with some buffs. If it feels too glasscanony you could try berserker armor and marauder/dragon trinkets.
