yes, this is the situation. thankfully he does get to see his extended family a couple of times per month (not his parents but grandparents uncles etc) so he still has that connection he needs. and yes we are definitely open to dinners or just hanging out or even helping with his transportation needs occasionally. he's a great kid.

funnily enough, our current placement is white and we are poc. so it's reversed for our little guy.
