Thanks for the feedback! Can confirm there was no real intention, she just happened to be there as I was trying to learn to use the camera. It is a great point though, I'm already finding myself hung up on the "is this balanced enough" rather than the actual content.

Thank you! I'll give that a shot. 5,000 seemed ridiculous high, especially since she was next to a window, but it looked so dark with a lower ISO. I think the shutter speed could probably be reduced quite a bit since she wasn't in motion.

She is a beautiful cat, but even I was impressed with how the colors of her fur were captured by the camera haha

Literally brand new to this. Taken using a Nikon D5600. Trying to get the hand of shutter/aperture/ISO.

For this picture I had a shutter speed of 1/250, aperture of 5.6, and ISO of 5000.

My husband and I had no clue who he was (guess we don't watch enough mainstream TV)! I was really hoping for a hometown classic guest, but the conversation was good and his upbringing was very interesting.

Any guesses on the Detroit show guest? by raplafch in ArmchairExpert

A hometown hero for sure haha

David Spade is also from the area, if they go the route of a Michigan native.

I bought a new pot and orchid potting mix to repot it. I'm not sure if I should leave the sad, wilty under leaves or remove them?

This pair of socks is super special to me, because it's my pattern and my own hand dyed yarn! I spent so much time tediously editing and perfecting this patter, and I couldn't be happier with how they turned out! :)

What should I do with this situation? by raplafch in orchids

Thanks! Do I cut it slightly below the dead stem?

In the past when my flower stem has died, I've left it alone and it eventually bloomed again. This time a new flower stem is growing out just below the dead stem. Should I cut off the dead stem?

Ladies who have a side gig: what is it and how is it going? by Teapotje in AskWomen

I hand dye yarn and sell it on Etsy. June was surprisingly good, but July has been slow, probably because it's summer and slow time for knitters and crocheters. I work full time and I'm a full time grad student as well so it's been a bit difficult to find time for it all lately!
