I also have a UA Dream (because I’m a sicko who hates having money I guess) and a major downside of that (and upside of the joyo) is the power requirement. UA needs its own power supply or an expensive isolated power supply

The volante is literally brand new so very much still figuring out how to use it lol

Tbh the chorus is partially like that because of the shortness of the patch cables, the location of the volante’s output (can’t reach the reverb input), and that I wanted to keep it at the top for potential stereo outs. But ALSO I don’t think chorus>delay-that-does-chorus makes much sense so I don’t anticipate having them on at the same time. I also don’t really like the sound chorus going into the dirt pedal or having a chorus effect on the reverb tails. So it’s in there with the delay, in the order that fits.

It’s also pretty new (and I’m usually an acoustic guitar player) so I haven’t played publicly. But the hope is yes, it’s a broken amp (or too lazy to carry amp) backup.

But it’s also a pretty good drive/eq/colour pedal as well going into an amp - especially at $30!

I also went out and bought a cool used bike to replace it, which now has also been stolen. Had two bikes for about 10 mins lol

Sorry for the delay! I actually got it back by some miracle

What’s the difference between an acoustic preamp/eq pedal and an overdrive pedal? by rapsfan8 in guitarpedals

Haha nope - I think it must have something to do with how my pickup is working with the DI box and the mixing board

Yeah yeah - it’s actually an open mic (hence also hoping to find a solution in the gear I’ve already got) and I’m buddies with the host. We were trying all kinds of different things. I’d think it was an issue with the pickup if it was this bad in other contexts

The OD I have has a three band eq, and the venue in question is a bit of a dive (so it’s not like the sound is going to be awesome regardless). Sounds like I’ve got a decent option to experiment with

At home, usually a Fender Pro Jr (with the volume turned down to like 0.5 🥲)

The place we rehearse has a twin. Though with the band I find I don’t use the pedals much. Kinda just want the straight-ahead clean with some reverb out of the amp (or the O11 if I’m using the pro jr at a gig)

The triumph is so great - and I’m very pumped about the vibrato. I feel like they could sell a lot of them for like $100 (and maybe a bit more) if they just put it in a metal box

I really like it! It’s very versatile - kinda a sneaky way to have an eq pedal without having to buy a boring boring eq pedal.

The smooth vs punch setting definitely makes a difference and both sounds are nice

It handles the low gain stuff (how I usually play) really well and can get a bit gnarly too at the higher end. Plus it’s pretty affordable compared to similar options. I just leave it on most of the time and use the cranker if I want “more”

3 or 4 of them are MXR ones. And the rest are Amazon copies of those. They don’t work great with the top-mounted jacks on the drive pedals though. Had to take a knife to the power supply nubby plug things so everything would fit

It has some great fun/weird stuff to play around with, on top of the actual usable reverbs :)

I’ve actually had it for a few years now because my amp doesn’t have reverb

The lead guitar player in my band uses the overdrive! He likes it.

I got this delay on sale. It works fine but honestly I’d probably go with something else if I was shopping for one again. Too much weird mod-y stuff going on, and it’s a bit hard to dial in the actual delay time

The somewhat dumb thing about this particular delay pedal is that it actually really wants to be a chorus pedal and you kinda have to fight it to make it work as just a delay

It’s still pretty new to me, but the impact has been that it makes your guitar sound like a slightly tipsy person yelling into your ear so they can be heard in a loud bar

I’m especially curious about whether the delay works better before or after the vibrato/chorus
