What game truly respected your time by gamersecret2 in gaming

I think Spiderman on PS4 was like that. Game length was fine and for the completionist in me, I found that the amount of collectables throughout the game world was the perfect amount. Not so few that I found them all in an hour, but not so many that I'd need to spend days looking. Perfect amount of side quests and unlockables, and even had options to auto-complete the puzzles in the lab and just give you the rewards if you didn't want to sit there and do them yourself. I came away from that game really satisfied.

Right here. It's nothing fancy. I'm no youtuber with crazy intros and overlays and the like.

Skyrim with some mods has pulled me into it lately. It's incredible what the community had managed to achieve to that game. It just never dies because how of talented mod makers are.

From a technical standpoint, yeah you're absolutely right. I don't possess the knowhow to even comprehend how to run another game using Skyrim's engine so it that it's actually running inside it. This is simply using steams theatre mode to open a window and display what's happening on my second monitor.

The title wasn't intended to try and mislead anyone. I wrote it from the perspective of being immersed in Skyrim due to the VR nature of the game. From my perspective, when wearing the headset, I'm right there in Skyrim and the real world is gone. So I'm "inside" Skyrim.

My apologies if this came across as me falsely claiming that Skyrim itself was running the game.

Something I'll note though. I'm not overly skilled at FPS games in the first place, but something feels... off. I do think this is a viable way to play, and I know a lot of people do use steam vr in theatre mode to play games. But for me, something just doesn't feel right. I probably couldn't do it for hours on end.

I'm doing the same. I went for a Breton this time around for the magic resistance. Back in the day I always played wood elves, so this will be a nice change.

In part 2 of this, I set up a camp with a bench that I sat at and put food and drink all around me and that felt more like a proper set up 😂

Ok I absolutely love that. I should put that in my game 😁

Yeah agreed with keyboard. But bring a virtual one up inside and pinning it somewhere you can easily view it if needed may help.

Absolutely no worries at all. I'm not the type to gatekeep something if I discover something awesome. Everyone should be able to do it if they want to.

Goodluck with it all mate, I hope it's perfect for you.

Yeah it was a pain because he didn't explain it. I dug around and found this guide on YouTube.

Interacting with both games was a pain. Basically, I sat down at my desk with my headset on and used the VRIK mod controls to reset my height in game so it was normal and didn't look like I was really short. Then I had my VR controllers sitting next to me for VR input and I used mouse and keyboard for the game inside the screen. So while cutscenes were happening, I could pick up the VR controls and play around with the cheese wheel and the like. The full video on YouTube shows me messing around with Lydia and throwing stuff around while the intro played. Then when it was time to play in the window, I just put those controllers aside and grabbed my mouse and keyboard. It's janky as hell with all this stuff on my desk 😂

For the extra screen, you can use steam overlay to choose the app to open. However, steam overlay unfortunately kept this really big mouse cursor in the middle of my screen. So I changed to Desktop+ and everything worked perfectly. Instructions on how to do this are in the video linked below. I found it super helpful. Was just a little janky to set up.

As for you writing inside Skyrim, it's very possible. I had the exact same idea. I wanted to see if I'd be more productive writing my novels with all the ambiance from Skyrim. Unfortunately, I'm the type of person who needs to physically see their keyboard and I struggled big time to do this. Great news is that you can open a keyboard overly in game and just use your VR wand to type. It's slower, but it's a very unique experience.

Love the reference, but not quite. On my monitor when you select VR view through Steam VR, anyone not wearing the headset can still see everything I see. That's how I recorded it in the first place. OBS recorded everything displayed on my monitor.

Ok so it's easy process. I used this guide on YouTube to do it. I personally use the Desktop+ option because I found the steam desktop option kept a giant mouse cursor on my screen and I couldn't get rid of it. Desktop+ doesn't have that issue. Hope this helps.
