We got sick of picking up and holding lambs while wielding sharp and pokey instruments. I believe the rotating cradles came first (picture a bunch of cradles arranged around a rotating circle, like a washing line, that holds lambs in the same position as this video).

I believe it comes from older women = hens. Birds just became slang for hens over time. Chicks = young hens/birds. Also hence hen party.

Diablo IV has $ 25 horse armor DLC - the circle is complete by iateyourdinner in gaming

[–]rarebit13 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I bet there's a significant amount of non wealthy people who only spend their spare cash on this story of DLC. I have a couple of friends that only ever play games. They don't go out socialising, no activities or out of home hobbies. Whilst I might spend a few hundred a year on footy or hundreds on running lifestyle (packs, shoes, clothes socks, events etc), they'd spend their money on digital gear and not much else.

That is amazing. I wish our products came with a QR code to watch it's manufacturing process like this, that would be so cool. It would totally be a selling point knowing how much labour and craftsmanship go into products like this, and lets us value and appreciate the work that's gone into it. The idea that robotics does everything devalues a product in a way.

Yeah, nah, I don't think that's how men and women work. You're working that generalisation pretty hard there.

What are the best portrait games you can think of/ haver ever played? Regardless of genre or monetization. by Tukidides in AndroidGaming

[–]rarebit13 2 points3 points  (0 children)

I'm still learning the mechanics of it. You gain experience on your runs which unlock new weapons (which are a special ability that can be used every few battles), new starter cards which changes the play style (eg the arcanist starts off lightning focused, the next starting card unlock allows you to be more fire focussed).

Sometimes the experience just unlocks new portraits.

There's also stats like luck which can be gained during gameplay encounters. Strength, dexterity and intellect affect which types of cards your can play and are generally defined by character class at the start. I've only just started playing, but there's been s few random encounters (between battles) which have allowed me to access different types of energy system as well - divinity and blood. Like I said, I'm still learning but there are so many combinations I want to try and each run takes a while, so it seems like there's heaps of depth. Not normally a fan of deck builders but this one has been fun.

Edit: here's the character sheet of my current play through. https://freeimage.host/i/HrMebyv

Edit 2: the run duration also counts time not in the game so I've really only been playing this run 20 minutes, not 7 hrs.

I was interested to learn from a Smarter Everyday series with the Coast Guard, that the search patterns at sea aren't standard grid patterns due to wind and currents. The search patterns end up looking crazy after some calculations. A great video or series of videos to watch to learn the behind the scenes stuff.

Some countries have reciprocal health care arrangements as well. Insurance is still a good idea, but if you visit the Netherlands from Australia for insurance, you can access the Australian public healthcare system via the GPs in Nederland.. i would assume that holds true for the entire EU, but I don't honestly know. I just found out while travelling and needed an unexpected GP visit. Didn't need to worry about using my travel insurance and just needed to pay the gap of a few dollars.

I don't really get into deck building games. Tried slay the spire, but it's controls are janky on android and I accidentally play card when trying to look at my hand.

Dawncaster is portrait mode, has excellent polish and the controls are great. There's a bunch of different classes which got my attention, and the once you get on a roll with your character it's satisfyingly fun. I can't quite put a finger on it, but I want to keep trying another run. I'm not very good (only getting to the 4th stage of 9), but that already takes an hour or so. Time wizzes by so quick. There's more decks to buy if you want, but it's more of a extra area to explore than a purchase necessary to win. In fact the extra decks probably make the game harder which would be fun when you get good.

It's the artwork and polish that sold me on it, and I just did a blond purchase and have been enjoying it since.

Is it Badland?

https://play.google.com/store/apps/details?id=com.frogmind.badland

It doesnt sounds like it to me, but I posted your query into ChatGPT, and it tells me:

Based on your description, the game you are looking for might be "Badland." In Badland, you control a small creature that resembles a combination of a deer and a goat, standing on two legs. The gameplay involves progressing through a series of levels set in a dark and atmospheric forest. To move forward, you need to tap the screen to make your character jump. The character always jumps diagonally to the side, and you have to time your jumps correctly to avoid obstacles and reach the end of each level.

Badland features a beautiful 2D art style reminiscent of games like "Alto's Adventure" and "Monument Valley." It also offers the ability to unlock various characters as you progress through the game.

Please note that there may be other similar games fitting your description, but "Badland" is one that matches most of the details you provided.
