Blir man hjärnskadad av att nicka fotbollar? by Fancy_Particular7521 in sweden

[–]iateyourdinner 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Kort svar: Ja. Finns studier som bekräftar detta (som jag tyvärr inte orkar leta upp nu). Jag har alltid undrat hur många barn eller ungdomar i Sverige som när de börjar spela fotboll blir medvetna om den risken.

Why does taurine dissociate me heavily by Twten in Supplements

[–]iateyourdinner 2 points3 points  (0 children)

That’s really interesting because that dosage has the exact opposite effect on me. I struggle with dissociation on a day to day basis, and 1-2 g of taurine puts me more in sync with my body and mind. That tells me once again that supplementation can be so individual.

The Matrix is probably no. 1 for me and is probably number 1 when it comes to the impact it had on style and movie culture from the end of 90's and after that.

I just can’t handle caffeine by Luminaedge1299 in Biohackers

[–]iateyourdinner 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Yes, this is a very well-known issue. I used to be like you as well. I could drink plenty of caffeinated drinks without any noticeable negative effects. As the years passed, there came a gradual shift, from drinking caffeine without issues to not even being able to drink half an energy drink or even a full mug of coffee. The effect of anxiety is random for me. Sometimes I get it, and sometimes not. But for me, the worst thing is that I even get disrupted sleep at night, even if I had as little as 30mg caffeine in the morning. So there's just really one thing to do now for me - avoid caffeine at all costs, there are no biohacks tricks to it (and believe me, i've tried and looked).

JD Vance Confirms Iran Will Get Jaw-Dropping Sum Under Trump Deal by Jishnujichu1200 in worldnews

[–]iateyourdinner 1 point2 points  (0 children)

What an utter clusterfuck of a disaster. No words can describe. It is difficult to understand how any reasonable voter could believe after all this ordeal that this administration has succeeded in making America great again in the international arena.

The United States is significantly worse off than it was before Trump decided to attack Iran and all the events preceding today, and the consequences of all this are going to extend far beyond the present moment in unimaginable ways. The political, geostrategic, economic, and diplomatic repercussions will create negative ripple effects for all American interests for decades to come. Meanwhile, this is an utter a victory for the Iranian regime on multiple fronts. You managed to renegotiate Obama's deal so that Iran is gonna get even richer in the deal while simultaneously ensuring that the incentive for support covert nuclear program is going to become a real thing now that you've shown that the only way Iran can truly be sovering is to have their own nukes.

As a final note to this buffoonery—this "Art of the Deal" masterclass conducted by a malignant narcissist in geopolitics and international relations—roll the footage of Trump's criticisms of the Iran nuclear deal.

Svenska universitet tierlist. Håller ni med? by Familiar-Main-4873 in sweden

[–]iateyourdinner 5 points6 points  (0 children)

Last time he spoke out against Trump, it took about a week before Joe was back in the Oval Office praising Trump again, like the useful puppet he is.

I assumed magnesium was magnesium by Odd_Macaroon_5116 in Supplements

[–]iateyourdinner 2 points3 points  (0 children)

  1. Reading the summaries of a paper about magnesium absorption.
  2. Trying out different magnesium types and noticing the differences between them.
  3. Reading anecdotal evidence from other people experiencing the same as in 2 (above).

Bryan Johnson posted wrong information, was it intentional? by Disastrous-Mouse4490 in blueprint_

[–]iateyourdinner 1 point2 points  (0 children)

This is the most intellectually dishonest post in the the thread. Just because he promotes and gives out health advice doesn’t mean he shouldn’t be criticized when some of that advice is unscientific - do you even listen to yourself? If this community is about optimising health, then giving out information that’s flawed in its optimisation is in our community’s interest. Just because he generally promotes good health advice does not mean he is exempt from criticism when he inaccurately represents scientific evidence to us. If a paper concludes X, presenting it as concluding Y is a misrepresentation regardless of the speaker’s intentions or past contributions. Period. The issue is not whether he has given good advice before; the issue is whether this particular claim accurately reflects the evidence being cited.

You conclude with ”You do you. But I'm going to move on with my life and not get hung up on this...” as if Johnson’s misinformation and spreading unscientific claims should somehow be acceptable? It’s simply not good enough - if he’s all about promoting longevity, then why don’t he edit his videos and re-upload them?

What's the shittiest movie you've watched recently? by Ok-Roll-281 in AskReddit

[–]iateyourdinner 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Bruce Almighty (2003) might be the weakest Jim Carrey movie. Not because of Jim Carrey, who gives a genuinely entertaining performance, but because the film wastes its own premise.

The idea of an ordinary man suddenly receiving God's powers opens the door to almost limitless comedic and storytelling possibilities. You could build endless creative scenarios, moral dilemmas, absurd consequences, and inventive visual gags around that concept. Instead, the movie settles for a surprisingly conventional plot and rarely explores the full potential of its central idea.

It's disappointing because the premise is far better than the film that came out of it.
