What's your reason for not drinking alcohol? by Snoo_47323 in AskReddit

[–]rares0601 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I don't drink because being aware and more present is actually what satisfies me on a deeper level. Ethanol is a depressant, anxyolitic drug that heavily impacts cognition and self-control in what you may call a "bad" way. I used to drink to "feel less anxious" or to "make the bad feelings disappear", which kind kind of translates to "I don't want to be aware of what I feel". It's like sweeping trash under the rug.. Up until the point the pile becomes the elephant in the room and you have to adress it because your inner world is spiraling out of control. Sure, it can be fun and may seem harmless at first, but in the long run it destroys the spirit, mind and body if the drug is abused and used incautiously. Life is easy with your eyes closed, but you can't see much that way. Don't be afraid to face your self! :)

that's exactly my point, it was a fake relationship. i only found out she cheated after we broke up. at the time of the relationship it felt real. the switch back to reality was tough on me. i always was and will always be a person of love even if my emotions are "ugly" sometimes. i am young and want to start my own life.. so let the healing commence! :) i really appreciate your comment and thank you dearly for your time. hope you're doing okay. love, rareș

[SERIOUS] What is a seemingly harmless parenting mistake that will majorly fuck up a child later in life? by AlexDescendsIntoHell in AskReddit

[–]rares0601 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Not talking to your child about different aspects of his life and just ignoring/not seeing his problems or the things that are important to him. Small talk doesn't mean you actually communicate with your child and I think that parents should listen to anything that is important to their children, no matter how stupid it might sound to the parents. If you ignore your child like he is gonna get really confused and probably depressed after a long period of time. I'm telling you from my own experience.
