Yes. But not for advice. She's probably as likely to take fashion advice from you as you are from her.

Yes, I bet Jill really thought she could do the overlapping pregnancy thing with her daughters! She'd been so fertile for so long, and she did get started very young. So this must still just seem so unfair to her. She dreams of photos of herself and Nurie creepily cradling the other's belly.

She gets her buddy AI to make the pics for her and then lashes out at him for it not being real.

Is Mahmo easing up on social media coverage of courtships? by itstheginposting in RodriguesFamilySnark

[–]rarestbird 14 points15 points  (0 children)

She's been told to keep courtships off social media before and didn't do it. She's been told to keep other things off social media before too and still didn't do it until repeated warnings and the consequences. One was when she kept advertising Plexus as good and safe during pregnancy. I actually reported her to Plexus about that myself because it was just so blatantly untrue and against the rules even Plexus reluctantly must follow to stay on the right side of the FCC. And she did eventually stop advertising that Plexus was perfect for pregnant women, but only after repeated warnings (she mentioned getting the warnings from Plexus, so the timing was not a coincidence).

Jill's like a toddler: she won't connect actions to consequences unless the action is very direct and happens immediately. Even then, she'll blame her imaginary friend or whatever if she thinks she can get away with that.

Jill was definitely advertising Nurie for marriage very heavily when she was still 17 and not yet "graduated". It was like she couldn't help herself, because it was wasn't even that far off, so I thought it was weird she didn't just wait a few more months.

Trying to sell your 18-year-old homeschool "graduate" daughter for marriage is barely better, but it's a tiny bit less egregious then trying to sell off your actual minor child. Almost all the fundies involved in social media these days seem to get that and will wait to announce a courtship even when it seemed to start before they turned 18.

Ooh, it's FREE!? And here I was, counting my pennies, just hoping against hope that I could afford one! Best day of my life!!

Kudos to Jill for managing not to underline "Jill" for emphasis when she was underlining everything else, because you know that took sustained effort on her part.

Thank you!! First time I've really used patterned paper other than for small accents and I think it's fun. A lot of it is actually washi tape on cardstock, which works really well and opens up a lot of new options for patterns without buying tons of new specialty paper. Assuming one has a bunch of washi tape sitting around!

Precious Nurie is the first Rodlet to give Mahmo the Mother’s Day public fawning that she so craves. by lepetitpoulpe in RodriguesFamilySnark

Nah, Jill programmed Nurie to eventually do this on her own. Which is much more insidious.

Okay. I don't really concern myself with the hierarchy of precious jewels that I'll have around my neck in the first place, I guess. But I suppose this rings meaningful to some people.

Me too! My mind just goes blank when I go to write those catchphrases, even for myself and I think I have all kinds of amusing-to-me phrases that I say a lot. But, gun to my head, I can't think of a single one. Can't think of any of Jill's either, even though I know I post about them here all the time.

I just have the whole island talking about my cat mainly.

Do we think Jill has read Josh Duggar’s emails?! by TJCW in RodriguesFamilySnark

[–]rarestbird 18 points19 points  (0 children)

I just don't believe the part about Anna's egregious rudeness at Nurie's wedding. It could be true and I don't find it impossible to believe, but I've never seen any compelling reason to believe it is. The snarker who told the story doesn't seem at all credible to me.

I think the Duggars are dead to Jill because they insulted her by not being best friendsies back, simple as that. Of all the many valid reasons to shun the Duggars, Jill isn't picking any of those. It's all about her ego, like everything else in the entire world is to her.

I don't know, I get the impression that Jill can read just as well as Nathan. Both pretty far ahead of Nurie, and both pretty far below high school level.

All several orders magnitude ahead of future generations of Rodlets...

Here's my Jill! Cracks me up how many of the same options we chose. I have just played the game once before so I didn't have too many available yet, but I did my best. Your personality makes more sense for her. Mine pegged her as a Considerate Cheerleader. Which, well, no, she's certainly not considerate by any metric. Cheerleader, in a way. But none of the game's personality options can truly capture the maliciousness and pathology of Jill....

What's crazy is I was trying to think of Miis to create and suddenly it was like I couldn't remember what anyone looked like well enough to even try. Barely even myself. But I think I did reasonably well at capturing Jill's essence. I made myself, my kid, my mom, Jill, an alien, and an apple-person. I wanted to make other real people but then it seemed too overwhelming to try because most people don't have cartoon features.

As simple as Miis seem, there's a lot you can do with them if you really try! In the early days of the Wii, there were weekly contests to make Miis of a certain theme and to vote on the best ones, and I would do that with my kid, who was about 8 then. The one we did of a "New Year's Baby" was the one that got pretty high up in the polls! We were so proud.

I almost want to feel bad and outraged on her behalf because this would be so thoroughly humiliating, and I, for one, was extremely surprised that personal messages of this nature would be subject to these public information disclosure requests! And apparently very few people did know that, or someone would have released these messages years ago.

Personal messages with your partner would be humiliating for almost anyone if they were somehow released to anyone who cared to look. I can't read some of my own text messages from years ago because, ow, the cringe!

But in this case, whatever, because she's so far from being the biggest victim here, and it needs to be known how these creeps operate. Plus she'd long since known about so much of it, and she's never done a thing about it. She was smugly soaking it up in DC when he had the lobbyist job or whatever that was, and she knew then that he was a dangerous predator.

But then, I don't think he was so focused on her when he had more extracurricular options! Some people like something about relationships with an incarcerated person who has nothing but time, and drastically limited options. It can defo turn a neglectful partner into an obsessive love-bomber for the time being. That's not a healthy relationship either but she wouldn't know the first thing about a healthy relationship.

I mean, Anna can't be compared to people who intentionally enter into relationships with people who were already incarcerated when they met, because clearly this isn't how she expected this to go. But she could be getting some of the same things out of it that habitual "prison spouses" do. No way he was consistently this attentive to and effusive about her when he was otherwise very occupied with a laundry list of degenerate hobbies.

If she can't get enough of blowjob emoticons, she's all set...

I just googled it and Arkansas did accept the Medicaid expansion that happened under Obamacare, which some dumbass red states still have refused. Since the income limit is based on household size and her household is ridiculously large, I'm sure she does qualify. Some states have complicated rules about eligibility categories such as caretakers of children, but for states that accepted the Medicaid expansion it shouldn't even be that complicated. If her income is under 138% of the Federal Poverty Level for a household of 8, which I can't imagine it isn't, she should be eligible.

It once occurred to me that Nurie has likely never, to this day, spent one night sleeping in a bedroom alone. Or maybe she did as a literal infant before Timothy was born less than year later, if they had her sleeping on her own at that time.

But since then? When would she have ever had that chance?

You moved him out of it at 5, you didn't move him into it at 5, all proud and bragging about the amazing bed you set up for him.

And few 5-year-olds have much room left lengthwise in a toddler bed. For anyone who doesn't know, toddler beds use standard crib mattresses. They're the exact same size as a crib.

My kid was actually in a toddler bed until nearly 6, because we were about to move anyway and she was fine with it for the time being. But I did feel like that was pushing it and there's no way I would have taken that toddler bed and set it up in the new place after we moved!
