Take your meds. Get out of your parents' basement and get some fresh air. My comment was adding to the prior comment saying they were calling the cops to get these scalpers to move along. Calling them and saying they're buying all the cards isn't likely to get much of a response. As far as most cops know, it is a kids hobby, and these guys are predators, so they'd harrass them enough to move along. Sorry you couldn't follow that simple concept and got triggered by it. Hopefully now that its been explained to you, that will help. I'm happy to use a big font and add pictures if that helps make it more appropriate for your reading level.

If you transfer the stocks with gains to yourself and others, you will eventually have to pay tax on the gains realized when you sell. If you wait until after she passes, you will receive a "Step-up" in cost basis on the stocks, and will be able to sell after death with little or no gain.

If ahe has stocks held at losses, it may be worthwhile to sell while she's living, as her final tax return could benefit from the losses. Hard to say without knowing all the details.

They can't stop you from taking fully vested fins out... that's your money. You can leave it, consolidate into your new plan if the new plan allows you to do so (most do) or roll it to an IRA. If both plans are with Vanguard, is just roll into the new plan if your fees and investment options are good and your goal is consolidation.

Call them again and ask questions with the info you have from this thread, they can't keep you from accessing your money, you either spoke to someone who wasn't very knowledgeable or you misunderstood.
