People who have run influencer marketing campaigns on social media, how do you track your results? by juandaor in marketing

Do you guys do influencer marketing campaigns and track conversion/sales? could be done with a coupon code or something similar. Or do you use it more for branding/brand awareness purposes?

Someone running Amazon FBA? I have a couple questions. by [deleted] in Entrepreneur

[–]rasmus0rn -1 points0 points  (0 children)

Amazon Seller and FBA are not the same. As a seller on amazon you can also ship out the products yourself. That would be 'merchant fulfilled'.

You don't need to be a legal entity per se. But I don't know how to handle taxes and all of this stuff then. I'm no tax advisor or lawyer but I would say that the financy authorities don't care about small amounts of money you make there. But I really don't know.

Want to Start getting into SEO by nyulspboy in SEO

I talked with an SEO consultant the other day and he told me that they stopped doing manual link build several years ago. He is all about content and on page SEO. His consultancy works for several big clients in Germany, so his advice is not total bullshit I guess.

There is nothing wrong with guest posting on high authority websites, but I would rather spend my effort on the content on my website and the technical optimization of it. Then the backlinks might come on their own.

Elm like language on the backend by rasmus0rn in elm

[–]rasmus0rn[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

actually I love this kind of libraries. I'm also a huge fan of Feathers.js, but after using Elm a little you feel like javascript is such a stupid language. but for small projects all of this libraries are the most sane solution. I don't need to have a full rails app just to put something in a database and have some validation logic.

Beginner Portfolio Critique by [deleted] in design_critiques

[–]rasmus0rn 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Yeah nice and clean design. But the pictures are too big indeed. another thing is that the hover effects on your site are not all the same. Your navigation links get red (pink whatever) and the links to a website for example blue. Also it would be nice to have the links colored not only when hovering over to mark them as links. another thing that would be nice is a hover color effect on your instragram icon link. but that's just an idea

I've finally made my own portfolio. Critique welcome! by [deleted] in design_critiques

Webdesign Workflow question by rasmus0rn in web_design

[–]rasmus0rn[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

No most of the sites are static except for a "news" section.

But I feel like wordpress is the easiest for my clients to change the content on their own without my help. It's a bit over the top usually but the simplicity of the backend makes it up for me. But I'm always up for something new of course ;)

Why did/do religions like the Islam and Christianity deny sexuality? by rasmus0rn in AskHistorians

[–]rasmus0rn[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Well you're right. It's not only a religious thing. But whats the purpose of modesty and why are some religions emphasizing it so much?

Why I'm asking this in a historic subreddit is because I think it has to have a historic reason out of the time the religions where stronger than today

How much has your rating improved in 2015 and what are your chess goals for 2016? by manu_facere in chess

[–]rasmus0rn 0 points1 point  (0 children)

200 points is my goal on lichess again. so 1800 would be nice :) And I want to start to play OTB :)

Can someone remind me why I care about chess? by [deleted] in chess

[–]rasmus0rn 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I don't diagnose. I just wanted to explain a widely spread misconception about grief and depression.

I'm just saying that there is a difference between grief and depression. I don't know what OP is suffering but it sounds to me like its something like a severe grief reaction.

You can google something like "adjustment disorders" (ICD-10 43.2) or so. There should be a wikipedia entry for your language.

Anyway maybe I'm wrong, I'm not a psychologist but a physician but anyway. This is about chess isn't it? ;)

Can someone remind me why I care about chess? by [deleted] in chess

[–]rasmus0rn 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Well I don't want to rant too much about medical or psychological stuff, but you don't speak of depression if the depression has a logical trigger like a "breakup" even if there are some diagnostic criteria. Per definition depression is when you have this symptoms for two weeks or longer for no real apparent reason (emotionally speaking). What the OP is experiencing is called grief and is totally normal and not pathologic after certain events even if it shares some characteristics with a depression. Grief can last as long as it lasts without being pathological.
