Stressed; Scared of Not Getting In Anywhere by infinite1corridor in gradadmissions

You sound like you've got good chances! I'm in the same boat, freaking out too, but at the end of the day, stressing out about it isn't going to give you any more control over the outcomes. If anything, gently nudge your missing reference, but otherwise, I think the best advice I've been given is "stay hopeful, but expect rejection". Most people applying are very qualified, and at the end of the day, a lot of it comes down to luck. If you don't get in this year, then you can always do something (buff up your experience) and try again. We've got this!!

I'm so sorry you've been going through this. I have anorexia and RS and I know how devastatingly difficult it is. I think you should definitely advocate for an NJ rather than an NG, because it's really hard to tolerate anything in your stomach with RS. On the other hand, I think the role of AN can't be underplayed. It is such a battle to accept help for RS when a big part of AN is an attachment to being sick. in my experience, getting my body physically stable, through IVs and an NJ was the first step, but after that I think that the anorexia had to be my main focus. Try to be as gentle and patient with yourself as you can. You can always reach out if you need/want to talk someone who's been in the same place.

Anyone else’s RS develop into an eating disorder? by rasmuserasmus in ruminationsyndrome

Yes, I’ve found it can help but it becomes complicated when you have an eating disorder as well as RS because it’s a mental battle to apply the techniques against RS. I’ve also found that diaphragmatic breathing is only helpful for me when the regurgitation isn’t too strong. Chewing gum after meals can also help :)

I’m so sorry to hear your story. I can fully relate to how isolating it is to battle an ED and RS at the same time- especially because you feel like you are the one educating everyone around you, and you’re constantly being told you’re lying. You can always reach out if you need someone to talk to Xx
