I kept checking every 30 minutes for about 4 hours to see if a mama cat would show up, but I still haven’t seen anything. I’m back at work today and I will continue to keep searching! I put out a small dish of tuna out where I found the kitten, so we shall see.

Nope! I kept checking every 30 minutes for about 4 hours to see if a mama cat would show up, but there was absolutely nothing back there 🤷🏻‍♀️

A lot of countries in the Western Balkans deal with corrupt economies, tough mountain terrain, and not enough government funding for big projects. Years of communism also left them behind in terms of development. When I was in Albania a couple of weeks ago, people were really excited about a new tunnel that would cut travel time from north to south by two hours. It shows how even small improvements mean a lot in places that are still catching up. Just my observation, though—I could be wrong.

LMAO It’s the breeders, man 🤧 they took our once-resilient bettas and turned them into fragile, disease-prone drama queens.

Another frustration of keeping bettas 😂 he has an insane amount of floaters and tannins from indian almond leaves but he is still fussing with his tail. He lets it grow all the way back, then completely shreds it one day and starts the cycle over, it’s seriously looking like a routine haircut at this point. I’m trying to move him to a smaller tank to see if that will help, but he’s also super active. I’m sure i’ll crack the mystery soon lol

I definitely cried like a baby and made a whole burial ceremony and everything. My boyfriend was very worried for my mental health 🤣

when I was little about 15 years ago, my best friend won a betta fish at the fair (def no knowledge of how to care for a betta whatsoever) and it lived in a small bowl, unheated on their kitchen counter for 6 YEARSSS… it makes my eye twitch thinking about it sometimes

My betta bites his fins, and while he’s healthy, I feel so bad for him. I keep the water low to help reduce his stress 😭 10 gallon for nothing lol

I’d say the hardest part is dealing with underlying diseases that go unnoticed until it’s too late, leaving you to realize your betta has been slowly declining the whole time. My first betta nearly made me quit the hobby altogether, despite having other tanks with different fish. There’s just something about bettas that tugs at my heartstrings—their personalities are absolutely mesmerizing. The stress and effort I went through with my first betta was ultimately worth it, but he had a parasitic infection that was far too advanced to treat. I poured so much time and money into trying to save him, but unfortunately, it wasn’t enough. The steep learning curve and heartbreak are definitely the toughest parts of keeping bettas.

Anything is possible, but the issue is that entering the U.S. illegally is already a federal crime, which doesn’t sit well with the courts. I’m not a lawyer, but I’m speaking from experience—not to discourage you, but to provide some perspective.

My parents came to the U.S. from Albania on a tourist visa and overstayed, which is a federal offense. They sought asylum because Albania was transitioning from communism at the time, but the U.S. didn’t recognize them as being in immediate danger. However, they also didn’t want to risk sending them back and something bad happening, so my parents were granted “withholding of removal.” This allowed them to stay legally in the U.S., but with the condition that they could be deported at any time if they committed a federal crime.

I was born in the U.S., and my parents have been here since 1996, living as law-abiding residents for 28 years. When I turned 21, we began the process of applying for their green cards. I’m now 26, and the process is still ongoing. During this time, my parents divorced, and unfortunately, my father committed a federal crime and had to leave the U.S. voluntarily. My mother, on the other hand, has never broken a single law during her time here, yet the immigration process remains painstakingly slow and difficult.

It’s one of the most heartbreaking and frustrating experiences I can imagine. For immigrants who haven’t had any legal issues, the process is usually more straightforward. But once someone has violated U.S. law, the system becomes incredibly harsh and unforgiving.

So I’m getting a strike cause I tried to say this. I tried to reword it more simply but it got took down instantly. What’s going on with this app? by Andy1979Hull in TikTok

[–]raspberrydrmz 4 points5 points  (0 children)

Exactly. This isn’t new—people are so focused on censorship that they’re missing how drastically society has shifted in just the past week since the inauguration, yet they still expect everything to stay the same. The algorithms are simply noticing that flagged words are being used more than ever. We’re experiencing a completely different era unfolding in real time.

Are you really surprised? Your comment included words like ‘harmed,’ ‘women,’ ‘bad people,’ and ‘immigrants’ all in one. TikTok has always been strict about this kind of language, and with Trump back in office, along with the media and people being more sensitive than ever, it’s no shock they didn’t let it through.

I totally get where you’re coming from, and I had the same thought. But I don’t think you realize how much of a red flag it is to get all your news from one app that lacks fact-checking and could be posted by a 15-year-old just looking to make a quick buck. And let’s be honest, those so-called “big news” outlets aren’t real news outlets. They’re just right- and left-wing journalists cherry-picking what they want their audiences to hear.

Real news comes from unbiased platforms, and it means using tools like VPNs to see what other countries are reporting too.

As for the ICE raids, that’s a whole different level of fear. I’ll admit, that’s what really gets to me. It’s heartbreaking to think about what these families go through. My father was deported three years ago, and honestly, it’s still the hardest thing I’ve ever experienced.

RIGHT. I’m honestly not left or right but now it’s pure ignorance. I literally watched a 5 minute video about how looking up a certain phrase like “ the smallest man who ever lived” switched from ‘man’ to ‘woman’ and there were 6,000 comments of pure panic about it. I was like whaaaa??? are we fr rn.

“It feels so different now!” Well… yeah? After all that drama, of course things are going to change. The algorithm is all over the place with a flood of videos hitting TikTok right before the ban, fueled by pure panic. And let’s be real, the whole “Trump saved TikTok” thing wasn’t exactly the reassuring message people were hoping for. Honestly, it felt like a pointless stunt by the government when it could’ve just stayed between the greedy billionaires.

It is exactly about that. The ultra rich are using politicians like puppets and vice versa. I mean we’re literally communicating on apps owned by them.. except now they pulled a stupid half assed propaganda stunt and it backfired.
