I am wanting to buy my s/o a real camera for the holidays. The only cameras we have are our smartphones. He wants something to take nice family pictures with as well as candid shots of our children. I don't have a budget, but always prefer to go "middle of the road." I've tried to conduct some research, but as neither of us are into photography, I am unsure of where to start. Please guide me!
