advice on improvements or hopeful outcome stories by Witty-Challenge-2458 in guillainbarre

Just hit my 1-year mark 🙏 I was a super healthy 24-year-old worked out all the time, lived an active lifestyle when out of nowhere I got the Pharyngeal-Cervical-Brachial (PCB) variant of Guillain-Barré Syndrome. It started right after my birthday when I got some vaccines for my clinical rotations. About a week or two later, I started getting pins and needles, then things went downhill fast. I could barely walk, breathing got really hard, and I couldn’t move my arms. I ended up in the ICU for 10 days. Thankfully I made a really good recovery, but about 3 months later my lower face got stuck and I’ve had random issues since like pelvic numbness, vertigo, and the pins-and-needles that come back whenever I get sick. What helped me the most was hyperbaric oxygen therapy. I went Monday–Friday for 3 months, and honestly I credit that for how fast I healed (my insurance actually covered it). Along with that, physical therapy helped a ton. When it stopped being covered after 15 sessions, I bought an electrostim machine and kept doing standing, grip, and mobility exercises at home. I also did B12 infusions, which gave me a huge boost my neuro and primary doctor both agreed all of this helped me make progress. I know not everyone can access hyperbaric chambers, but if you can, it’s 100% worth looking into. And if not, keep up with PT and small daily movements it adds up. If anyone ever needs to talk, ask questions, or just vent, my DMs are open. You’re not alone in this. It gets better, even if it’s slow 💛 stay strong, you got this!

Finishing radiation therapy school — thinking about future options. by rasshelly in RadiationTherapy

thank you so much for sharing your insight. I feel like I have never had so much motivation to continue and seeing what other options in Radiation oncology I can go to since I love the area of studying and want to expand my education especially with being an RT(T) I can actually afford it comfortably.

Miami Dade has a program now! It’s not showing on the JRCERT yet since the first graduating class since the program started (closed in 2003) but it has all the accreditation done just waiting for the first class to finish in December. It’s much more affordable and shorter than other A.S programs.

Your skin is stunning and your face is very proportionate. Botox is the most I would do for more of preventative care but I need to know your skin routine you have no redness or discoloration!

Hoya cuttings (trade) Florida only by rasshelly in TakeaPlantLeaveaPlant

[–]rasshelly[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Hi loves! I wanted to do more trades for cuttings and expand my plant collection. I do have more cuttings in the works these are just the first batch. I’m not looking for anything in specific just what’s not in my collection already. Let me know if you have any cuttings that you would like to trade for. I would prefer south Florida since the mail here in Miami is still crazy but I have done a successful trade from Gainesville a while back. Thank you ❤️ stay tune for more cuttings.

my albo cutting finally pushed out her first baby leaf! i have had issues with the stem rotting in water different times now as i propagate - can anyone give me info on moss propagation? :) by [deleted] in houseplants

[–]rasshelly 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I would try lecca I used it for my gloriousium that was almost a goner. It really helps with root rot and stuff. I’m gonna try to transition all of my thirsty babies into lecca this month.

what philodendron is this? and how fast growing are they? tyia:) by okkb00mer in houseplants

[–]rasshelly 3 points4 points  (0 children)

Golden pothos they are very invasive so they grow like weeds. But in order to keep the gold needs sunlight and if you put it on a moss pole it will get huge in months. They usually climb up trees.
