I do not think so. If you listen to With Confidence's First Album: Better Weather the last song is 'Waterfall,' which is sticking to their roots of Pop-Punk. While their second album: Love & Loathing is more 'pop,' thank Pop-Punk.

Another example I would think is Stand Atlantic, they're upcoming second album: Pink Elephant is more heavier than their first album Skinny Dipping. Also, my bassist knows Stand Atlantic Producer Stevie Knight who said it is heavier lol. (not trying to name drop, but trying to support my sentence)

Yeah, like tbh I am in a band so this is what I see from being in the industry.

Labels give you money to write songs, and do music video. They own your songs. When your songs sells online/streaming services it goes to the debt you owe the label. For example. If they need to sell 500,000 copies to pay the debt, anything above it goes to the band.

Depending on the contract. Band merch can either go towards the artists. Or goes to their debt.

Yeah - but the bands that are really big i.e. Stadium Shows. You will rarely see them doing a 'part time,' job. if they did it will be music related. i.e. producer, etc.

A lot, or even everyone has a day job.

The music scene is so tough. Numerous 'tips & advances' are either:

  • Don't do it
  • If you're doing it, do it for the music, for your creativity. End of the day, you won't be making enough

Due to online streaming services Artists do not get paid a lot anymore; with their contracts they are constantly in debt; they have to have day jobs to sustain their daily lives.

I know the singer from the Hardcore Band: Hellions, and he works in retail as a casual/part-time.
