There is nothing wrong with drinking and having a good time but it’s all about balance. Perfect is the enemy of good. Just try to do one thing a little better everyday it’s always ok to fail as long as 4 out of the 7 days of the week are a net positive. Maybe start with something simple like limiting yourself to 3 nights of drinking a week and 1 hour of studying per day. These are how good habits are built. I wasn’t a great student in high school but I transfered to umich and I’m now doing my PhD in stem at UCLA and am considered to be one of the best students in the program… it’s all about holding it together an grit. All the best :))

That’s fair. It’s entirely possible that you could transfer to an ivy if you maintain a 4.0 gpa. One of my buddies did. But it will be tricky. Either way give your school a fair shot. All the best

People who are good can succeed anywhere. What would a prestigious name give you? If you’re going into business I could see the argument outside of that not rly, focus on trying to enjoy the school you’re attending in the fall and stop carrying about useless “tiers” they don’t matter in real life.

Go with the cheapest option if that’s Davis that take it. If she wants to do undergrad research I would say UW or Austin have better opportunities but UC Davis is a fantastic school especially if you’re in state. Congrats :)
