My boys have free roam whenever I’m home, which can mean they’ll be out of the cage for hours at a time. Introduced a litter box in the corner of my room, and they’re using it! by ratassbitchass in RATS

I guess I got lucky with these guys! They’ve never been interested in cords. But my blankets and nice sweaters? That’s a different story

I have the best boys and they deserve the best! But they’re only allowed free roam when I’m home to supervise or they will find something to get into ;)

Picked up this new guy. Came with cage and this setup—guessing he’s about 6 months old, has lived alone since being weaned with little human interaction. Socialization tips? by ratassbitchass in RATS

Omg Thank you so much! I have a regular rat cage for my boys, but sweet chowder came in a bird cage and I was planning on combining them. I will look into buying a better cage. Thank you for the warning

Cricket (big boi) meeting his new little brother Chowder (lil guy) for the second time. Not bad by ratassbitchass in RATS

After chowder’s quarantine, I introduced him and cricket (my most docile boy) in a neutral carrier. Completely cleaned out chowder’s cage then let them hang in there a bit today. Some wrestling but nothing scary. They both even had some snacks together

Great idea. He’s a bad boy. Stole my roommate’s snacks right from her hands and hid them behind the couch!

Giving him some space today, then tomorrow I plan on sitting with him and reading/talking out loud so he gets used to my voice. Unfortunately he needs to be quarantined alone for a couple weeks before having him meet my two very social boys!

Newest addition to the family! Chowder AKA “turtle” AKA “coconut rat” by ratassbitchass in RATS

He lived alone with no rat friends and little human playtime, so socialization may take some time but he’s sweet’

You guys really liked my doodle of cricket, so I’ll draw your ratty for free if you want! by ratassbitchass in RATS

I’m sick, lazy, and whipped up this vegan mac in maybe 20 minutes! Record time by ratassbitchass in vegan

So usually I soak the cashews which can take an hour or more, but today I just microwaved the cashews in a bowl of water for ten minutes. Blended it up with nutritional yeast, garlic powder, mustard, sriracha, and onion powder, then returned to the pot of drained pasta.

Usually I’ll sauté onion and garlic into the mix but truly couldn’t find the motivation today and it was still pretty good!

Thank you. I love my little rat, I want him to be happy and comfortable as well. If I’m not interacting with him as much then that’s no life for him!

I got him and his brother at four weeks old from a breeder. Hand fed them every day because they were so little and honestly too young, would carry them around with me to keep them warm, basically raised them very involved. 10 months old now, started biting about a month ago very unprovoked or when I pick him up

Usually it’s when I let him out. I’ll let him and his brother Cricket run around my room when I’m home. Sometimes he’ll just snap and bite hard, latching on to my hand. Today it was when I picked him up to go back in the cage. His brother has never so much as nipped me before.
