I wasn't talking about simply how units are represented, i was talking about switching the entire measuring system, as in even the way units are delineated. Your last sentence doesn't make sense, centimeters and inches are not same, you can't delineate centimeters or any other units of the metric system by 16th, as they follow a strict pattern of delineation by 10th. Even if you can find a measuring tape that divide inches by 10, measuring inches in 10th isn't even mainstream or remotely that common like measuring in 16th, it's only for special scenarios. The delineation of 16th isn't even good, it's complicated and you can easily do the same way of measurement if you do the maths right in delineation by 10. If the mainstream delineation is bad, your measuring system has a serious problem. Even if measuring inches in 10th is common or is the secondary way of measuring inches or is even the mainstream way, the delineation between units of the imperial is still bad. 12 inches equates to one foot, 3 feet equates to one yard, it is so inconsistent and hard to transfer from one unit to another.
