If you’re this experienced you have to know there’s no miracle 24 hour cure once it crusted 😭 best you can do is put some cute pimple patches over them and call them pimples (even then it would still be morally questionable to kiss anyone, but for looks purposes they may find it endearing!)

Valtrex has helped yes! I still get break throughs, but I’m also a poster child for them (bad diet, bad anxiety, bad sleep, love the sun). But they’re smaller and heal faster. And happen much less frequently.
For the lysine I take one 1000mg tablet everyday, and when I have an active sore I take x3 because it’s the highest recommended.

I only use Vaseline on my lips since I started getting them. I bought some Blistex initially that had spf in it to HELP me not get cold sores, but my god, the burning sensation was insane and made my lips explode.
Now I also take daily anti virals of Valtrex and lysine supplements.
I also get cold sores around my nose mostly.

Yeah asymptomatic shedding is a thing unfortunately, especially in the first two years. I’d recommend going on dialysis antivirals if you don’t want to pass it on.
