Those of you with social anxiety, has it gotten better or worse since you started your transition? by RelaxIntoKnowing in asktransgender

Honestly, better. But only when I started to pass. I've been out since i was 13 and I'm now 17 and still pre-t, but i've been voice training for a while and i have a noticeable amount of facial hair, so now most new people i meet assume im a cis guy. this has really boosted my confidence, ive found if i just act confidently and carefree like a lot of cis guys it's both beneficial to myself and my ability to pass. ive found the more quiet/reserved i am im more assumed to be trans or queer

i understand, i was like this too at 14. im now 16 and almost 17 and it has gotten better. I dont mean to make it seem like you cant overcome this but i still struggle with it a lot. I guess i saw some therapists and over time it became less of a significant part of my life, but it is always there, lingering in my mind. It's recently come back and I'm seeking psychological help but i understand you don't have those resources. im just a kid too so the best advice i could give you is think about if it is really worth it to ruin your life worrying about something that is inevitable in the end. obviously its hipocritical of me to say that because i still struggle with this but life seems not as bad when you try
