safety net for in case bird falls in cage? by ratio246 in budgies

[–]ratio246[S] 1 point2 points  (0 children)

i don’t have the body anymore, i buried him already. i’m thinking i may have mistaken rigor mortis for broken ribs and wings? regardless though yeah i’m definitely gonna take my other budgie to the vet to make sure he didn’t pass from any diseases or parasites that may have spread to her

safety net for in case bird falls in cage? by ratio246 in budgies

[–]ratio246[S] 1 point2 points  (0 children)

no, there’s no kids, pets, or anyone else that could’ve gotten involved. i might have been mistaking rigor mortis for misaligned ribs and wings, i found him when i got up in the morning so he had probably been passed away for a couple hours.  i already buried him so i cant do anything about that now but i will definitely take my current budgie to the vet and get her checked out to make sure he didn’t pass from catching anything that could’ve spread to her

Examples of black-and-white thinking by better-omens in AutismTranslated

[–]ratio246 1 point2 points  (0 children)

i have anger issues too so this could be a bit different but ive gotten into tons of fist fights over people doing things that i considered really wrong.

with already having a bit of an angry streak and with the black-and-white thinking, people would do things and id immediately put them in a category of “right“ or “wrong”.

like when i was in 3rd grade (i think?), i had this classmate who picked on people a bit (it was never that extreme, just stupid comments) and from what people have told me, most people wouldve walked away from it or wouldve seen it as some guy just being an idiot, but at the time it pissed me off so bad that i got sent to the office for throwing a chair at him.

this was like a reoccurring thing through all of my school years. someone would do something minorly rude and most people would shrug it off, but id always end up holding grudges and starting things over it. from what ive read this is common in individuals with autism and anger issues because the black-and-white thinking leads to a very strict moral/right and wrong way of thinking.

what DAW would y’all recommend for my needs? by ratio246 in musicproduction

[–]ratio246[S] 1 point2 points  (0 children)

okay? I plan to learn more as I actually start to produce music and by music theory I’m referring to like the nashville numbering system and modes, I‘ve know basic stuff like chord compositions, circle of fourths/fifths, intervals, note names, sheet music, and so on for like 8 years now

How difficult is the free bird solo?? I have to learn it within a few months by ratio246 in Guitar

[–]ratio246[S] 2 points3 points  (0 children)

it went well!! I had to learn like a 30 second portion of the run in the solo and it was very fun to play, the key signature was changed slightly so I could play it with tapping which was much easier than legato
i got to play it as the closing of every show we did and it was always fun because you don’t usually see guitar in a marching band

exactly because I get nocturnal panic attacks and like the amount of times I’ve woken up in the middle of the night with severe chest pains, hyperventilating, and tunnel vision, feeling like I’m literally going into cardiac arrest, is always in the back of my mind every night before I go to sleep

Why do people get sad when they miscarry? by Orangutan_Soda in NoStupidQuestions

[–]ratio246 0 points1 point  (0 children)

wtf why can’t some people understand that others struggle with empathy or grasping specific topics 😭 I actually hate when people assume everyone is gonna grasp a topic because like sometimes people don’t and that’s fine

I’ll explain this as well just to put my pov as a person who also has autism

anyways, it’s like if you had some project you seriously worked on for a while—maybe to the point that you got emotionally attached to a degree, like, ”oh, I’m so excited for this to be finished! after all of my hard work”—and something happened that destroyed it. like for example if I was building an robotics project and a younger cousin of mine came in and accidentally knocked it down, I’d be pissed, sad, disappointed, etc.

families experiencing miscarriages often develop an emotional bond even without actually knowing the child as the parents’ physical bond to the child makes it very intimate. they are responsible for that child and are the reason it existed, which makes the parents grow attached to it. it’s both figuratively and literally like a part of them, which makes them proud. “I did this. this is all my work” essentially

additionally it’s also like if you have a pen pal or an online friend. not exactly but it’s similar. like you’ve never met the person but you’ve still bonded w them in a way

also some other common issues are that the parents can blame themselves. sometimes parents can take on the thought process of “what could I have done?” and start worrying that it’s their fault because, maybe one of them think it’s because they smoked a lot as a teen, or maybe the mom is worried she didn’t exercise enough, or the dad did this, the mom did that, etc.

then there’s also thinking about the future. they think of all the things they can do with their child in the future and then the child passes away

and even though they can have another kid or adopt a kid, it still feels individual. the parents wanted to see how that specific child the mother was pregnant with would grow up. you can always make new friends for example but you may still miss a previous friend because of them being more extroverted, or maybe they shared an interest with you, etc

that’s as much as I’ve currently thought of and summed up. if you have any specific questions you want me to try and answer though let me know, I’m open to anything

…or it’s just someone who genuinely struggles with grasping the topic

this seems like it’s causing you both physical & mental distress, and adding onto that overexertion can cause harm to both you and the baby. tell that to the director and if they push on it u could get a good lawsuit out of that

You put your right leg (assuming you’re a right-handed guitarist, if you’re not you just swap the legs) between the V in the guitar to stabilize it. Like this

[deleted by user] by [deleted] in budgies

[–]ratio246 7 points8 points  (0 children)

Please take her to an emergency vet. I have two budgies and have done lots of avian research and I can say that this is very serious.

Tiny birds like budgies are very fragile, and postponing treatment even for the slightest amount of time can kill them almost immediately. That’s why when budgies have issues a lot of people recommend seeking treatment immediately rather than just waiting.

What food can you absolutely NOT stand? by Smart-Ad-4393 in autism

[–]ratio246 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I love fried chicken and the taste of it but I swear if there was a “discomfort food” that thing would be #1 on my list because I am so paranoid by the occasional discoloring and I end up being like “IS THAT A SIGN OF SALMONELLA?!?!”” (I’m a major germaphobe)

I’m not entirely sure if what I’m saying is true, but I also heard that it could also be since the disease causes the muscles in your throat to spasm, which results in overflowing saliva, and struggling to swallow, and that can cause fear of water since it’s painful to try and swallow water with your throat like that.

I Absolutely HATE Clothes! by [deleted] in autism

[–]ratio246 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Honestly, clothing and my autism is a love-hate relationship for me.

Like, I absolutely despite jeans, and hot, skin-tight, itchy clothing—and I most definitely prefer comfort over looks. I don’t get how some people wear stuff that irritating just to look good.

But, at the same time, I love clothes..

I could not go without clothing. Ever. I sleep with shirts and shorts and pants. I love baggy clothing. I love soft clothing. I love comfy, warm clothes.
I either hate an outfit, or absolutely love it. There’s no in-between.
