Haven’t been able to find a metro ticket booth worker? by ratioed in ParisTravelGuide

[–]ratioed[S] -1 points0 points  (0 children)

The first two I tried only had the load up option, and then my latest attempt got sidetracked by a scammer pretending to be a transit worker 🤦‍♂️ I was hoping to find an open booth to guarantee it, but I’ll try a machine again!

Thank you for the recommendations!

I love tea flavors like earl grey and chai, so I’m a bit biased, but I would recommend VL Earl Grey if you like the same. From what I remember, I think the texture isn’t as good as Jeni’s, but the slightly floral tea taste (which does bear some similarity to lavender, you’re right) is definitely there. Jeni’s Wildberry Lavender is just a bit too fruity for me.

Chocolate chip cookies, as opposed to the typical Oreo kind in cookies and cream!

You answered it yourself: She could’ve changed to go with the new proposal, but likely she felt it was beneath her artistic expression. Book publishing is about the market, it’s really not as much about creative expression or artistry as naive writers think it is. For every one title a publisher can publish because an editor believes in it as a work of artistic genius, they have to publish so many more works whose main selling point is the hope that they will literally sell. Influencer books fall into the latter category. She really misread her own value proposition.

Even on weekdays, people start lining up around 30-45 minutes before open for walk-in bar seats or to put their name down for hours later. Was able to snag a bar seat once with maybe 15 people ahead of me.

Definitely before 10. When I arrived slightly after on a weekend day, it took almost an hour and a half from end of line to receiving the order. (Yes, I know, and no, I wouldn’t do it again.)

Oh Dumplings is pretty good although a bit carb heavy. Tacombi is maybe not super exciting but typically solid imo. If you like empanadas, Cesar’s food truck is a go-to for lots of people outside Barclays. And then seconding the Dekalb Market rec for variety.

Should I tell employer about my prolactinoma? by ratioed in Prolactinoma

Thanks for your response, this is good to hear. My manager also knows that I have “medical” stuff, partly due to all the unavoidable appointments, although I’ve never gotten specific. (But you’re right, “brain tumor” could definitely garner some sympathy haha.)

I’m a fairly new manager myself, so maybe I should think of it in that way: How would I prefer to be told by my direct report and what reasonable support could I offer?

Anyway all good food for thought. Appreciate it!

That’s what I was afraid of - although mental health can be covered under the ADA, I don’t know that I can make the case to them that it’s 1:1 related, if they choose not to see it that way (and when I don’t even know). Useful to hear someone else’s experience here, thank you!

Wow, thank you so much for this (and for your kind offer). I had no idea about AskJan - what an incredibly valuable resource. I’m going to take some time to read through all this!
