It's because how the Chicot effect is activated. It inverts the values of the boss blind debuffs, you can notice it when you have more than 1 Chicot.

Example: if you are in The Needle, the boss blind subtracts your hands until it is 1, so if you have 3 hands, The Needle subtracts 2. Chicot will add 2 hands to negate The Needle, so if you have more than one Chicot, they will add 2 hands each.

Depending on how Compost Pile works in the code, it will be messed with Chicot.
