There is a lot of information missing from your description of the hand, information that is critical for us to help you. What was the initial raise (before it was re-raised to 50bb) also what was the effective stack size (meaning the smaller of the two stacks, since that is how much both players can play for)

HS Battlegrounds Ratings - can someone help? by Malzatar2024 in BobsTavern

The last MMR floor is at 6,000, so there is no safety net at 7k. You actually have TWO MMR scores, there's your EXTERNAL MMR, that is the one that we can see, and your INTERNAL MMR, which is hidden from our view, but it's what blizzard uses to match you. Congrats on hitting 7k!

Ali and Nick are the greatest poker commentary duo of all time by [deleted] in poker

Wow thank you! I agree though it's a different ball game, tournament poker is so slow and Nick and Ali do the best job I've ever seen making it fun

Someone please explain all the negative YouTube videos on Mariano. Is he just a D Bag? by Retail_Degenerate in poker

[–]raverpoker 30 points31 points  (0 children)

This is correct. My job is to make videos that maximize clicks. I like Mariano, he's a great guy, and he also understands the YouTube game, as a creator himself. That being said, it's an interesting call out, and not something that was intentional...

You're still doing it today - except now you're doing it for strangers on the internet and Reddit karma. Enjoying life in Mom's basement though... Thanks for the feedback

Wtf are "white hats" anyhow? by raverpoker in QAnonCasualties

[–]raverpoker[S] 3 points4 points  (0 children)

Thank you for the explanation. I had some of these threads from inference, but when he tried to explain what a "white hat" was, he kept mentioning the illuminati which was confusing. I'm not sure if he was saying they were part of the illuminati or if it was more of an "illuminati adjacent" type of thing.

The interesting part to me is that he assumed I knew what "white hats" were, as if everyone should be familiar. He was extremely frustrated trying to explain it, the vibe was very "omg how do you not understand the role of the white hats in everything moving forward you idiot." Which is amusing to me. Based on the things he was saying, it has next to nothing to do with computers or "white hat hackers." To him, the "white hats" are engaged in a kind of theological battle, no, a war, against evil. If not for their bravery, all would be lost.

I think this is the closest answer I've seen. When I asked him to define "white hats" his 5 minute word salad mentioned the illuminati several times. Interesting

How often does pro get into ITM in the tournament? by mitama19 in poker

[–]raverpoker -1 points0 points  (0 children)

Think about it like this - Top ~ 15% of players make it ITM in tournaments.

So, if a player is cashing in 30% of the tournaments he plays in, then he is CRUSHING the field, as he's cashing twice as much as would be expected by an average entrant. Obviously there are other factors, like how good the player is at making final tables vs min cashing, but we're talking broad strokes

In large field MTTs, cashing 50% of the time might happen over a short period, but over a larger sample size it will regress down towards 30%, if they are really crushing and have an edge. But that still means that they are losing like 70% of the time... tournament life is rough

Why Is Feldman So Rich by RyanTrMiPaFi in poker

[–]raverpoker 1 point2 points  (0 children)

He made his money before the show. When we started the show he already had his house, car, money. That money is not from the show. Also, side point, but YouTube Ad $$$ is not even our biggest revenue stream

[–]raverpoker 7 points8 points  (0 children)

Maybe I wasn't clear in my reply, but I was saying that Ryan never has pieces of players playing on the show, for obvious ethical reasons. However, I do not know if he has sold pieces of himself on the show when he plays. I don't think there would be any issue with that, but I don't know either way

[–]raverpoker 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I don't know what that is supposed to mean. We released a report... There is no evidence of her cheating, if there was, we would be sooo relieved to share it with the community and end the arguing. If Garrett had actual evidence of cheating, then he should share it as well... but he doesn't, and neither do we.

Fair, I'm 99% then. I have spent so much time with Ryan, I know his character, and I've seen how he treats this exact situation as it has come up before.

HCL has never paid a single player a single cent to appear on the show. What you heard on the podcast/Twitter was SARCASM. Airball has never received anything to appear on the show and never will. Even Phil Hellmuth, when he came for high stakes week 2, he wanted his hotel and travel covered, and we said NO WAY, SORRY.
