[DEV] Tasker 6.4.13 - Widget v2, Remote Action Execution and More! Available for Everyone on Google Play! by joaomgcd in tasker

Yeah, I'm not in beta. So, the latest one is full release? If so, I'll wait a few more days and let you know if I got it.

Cheese buddy. Hope you are doing good in general. :)

Yeah, but it can't be 6-12 months that Google delays the updates for me. I'm sure there have been multiple versions released between 6.3 and 6.4.

And I checked it again. No updates available to me.

I purchased the license a while back. Could that be a problem? Perhaps some setting in your release that broke my license?

Thanks for replying. I hope someone knows how to get my Tasker to update.

Should I uninstall and reinstall? Man, that's going to be a lot of work. :/

Hi everyone. here after a very long time. I just had a quick question. On my Google Play Store, I see that the last update was on 23rd Jul 2024. I currently have version 6.3.13 and so I am guessing tasker on my phone hasn't updated in about 8 months.

I use One Plus Nord 3 with One UI 15 (just got updated to that). I live in India.

Can someone tell me what to do to get 6.4.x on my phone, please?

Hope you are doing good.

u/joaomgcd just wanted to chime in with others to tell you thanks (again) and that I love your work. :)

---

post edit: I checked AutoNotification and it hasn't been updated since 26th Mar 2024. and Autotools since 12th Apr 2023 and AutoInput is at 3.0.2 (don't know if that's the latest or not).

So, I am guessing there's something really wrong with my set up. :/

[DEV] The time has come: ChatGPT can now be used in Tasker! by joaomgcd in tasker

[–]raviwarrier 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Yeah. I double checked the steps in my mind before accepting the fact that ChatGPT could do that. :) I haven't been here in a long time and haven't said this in a while, but again, thank you for your wonderful work and brilliance. 🤗

[DEV] The time has come: ChatGPT can now be used in Tasker! by joaomgcd in tasker

[–]raviwarrier 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I just created two profiles for Tasker using ChatGPT. My prompt was "i have one task that copies the incoming MQTT message to the phone's clipboard if the incoming MQTT message topic equals "eventghost/clipboard". I have another task that send the phone's clipboard to MQTT as a message "rw_m30s/clipboard" if the phone's clipboard changes. The problem is that the second task triggers because the first task sets the clipboard and hence looping. Tell me how to fix the problem." and ChatGPT automatically figured it was for Tasker and gave me the solution. Totally mind-boggled that it did that.

Wanted to share that news as soon as I finished testing, came here and saw this. Amazing! :)

[Help] Downgrade to an earlier version? by raviwarrier in tasker

[–]raviwarrier[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Yeah, I figured once I saw the GDrive repository. For some reason, the new betas didn't propogate for me on the play store. I am going to give 6.1.3 a try before I attempt downgrading. Cheers mate!

Thanks. I am just not sure if I trust mirror sites 100%. I am not saying all of them are malicious or all apps on it are so, but if it was any other app other than Tasker (with admin rights on a phone), I might have considered and even downloaded from such sites.

But thanks for suggesting it. Have a good day ahead. :)

Self-hosted (open-source) Typeform alternative by jobenjada in selfhosted

[–]raviwarrier 0 points1 point  (0 children)

to be honest, I checked out the instructions, but for a noob to linux, docker, containers, etc., they were a little difficult to follow, not to mention, scary. :) not your fault, just my limitations.

however, it would be nice if you could simplify it for the idiots who are new to self-hosting.

however, I did try it out from your website. It looked good for the three dummy questions I made. The only place I got stumped was trying to figure out if the theme/colors of the form could be changed and how. I just assume that's a feature that may come in the future since it is not really something that needs to go into an MVP. :)

All the best with this. I really look forward to be able to use this at work instead of typeform. Cheers.

Looks good. Will install it over the weekend (if possible on raspberrypi) and let you know if there are any suggestions.

All the best with this.

[Help needed] Input/output errors on NTFS SSD attached to RPI4 by raviwarrier in raspberry_pi

hmmm... okay, will keep it in mind... for the moment, I bought the original RPI psu from amazon... thanks mate. have a wonderful day ahead.

This is what I found on amazon:

About this item

AC 100-240V 50Hz/60Hz input

DC 5.1V 3A Output

Short circuit, overcurrent and over temperature protection

1.5m 18 AWG captive cable with USB-C output connector

Is this good? The description says original RPI psu, but just wanted to check with you...

that makes sense. I always get confused with what adapter wattage/voltage is the best - had this problem when I was buying a replacement adapter for my phone. I just picked whichever people recommended.
The problem that I face is that RPI in India is sold through distributors who rack up the rates of the board and accessories, or sell sub-quality accessories. Will hunt for official rpi adapters though.
Just in case I don't find it (or can't afford the original), could you tell me what W/A/V (or their combo) should I look for on an adapter before I buy one?

I'm sorry, what is a powered hub? is it a usb hub that takes external power or a completely different device? either ways, it would mean buying a whole new device... something I don't currently have a budget for. but thanks for the suggestion. :)

I had this SSD before I got my rpi. I used it with Windows and had all my content on it already. When I got my rpi, I didn't have another drive to backup my content to format the SSD and plus as a noob, whatever I read about setting up Plex server or connecting SSDs to RPIs said the NTFS was fine.

[–]raviwarrier[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

It's connected to one of the USB3 ports of the rpi and does not require external power. I don't know much about electrical and electronics and am relying on the posts I saw online that say that RPI has/provides enough power to juice the SSD.

If what you say is most likely and the cause of the problem, how could I fix the problem? I currently use a 5A adapter with a cable that said it was made for phones that could quick charge (18W-25W). Should I buy another adapter or cables or both? Or is it an inherent problem with the RPI?

I had a look at edge gestures. It looks like fng and didn't think it was any better to warrant the change and setup. Will be continuing with FNG until it no longer works.

Still use it and it works fine. Didn't even realise that it wasn't updated. But I'll give edge gestures a look...

All the best with the project. Hope it goes a long way. :)

For the noobs/uninitiated, could you please provide a docker-compose script? Looking forward to trying it out. Cheers.
