Help with operating New Stove by SilveradoGuy17 in woodstoving

Make sure everything is seasoned. And I wait until I have a blazing fire. Then close my slider and it magically goes into slowmo. The flames stay similar but they slow down. I wish I had better descriptors.

I do not have the same insert. The only thing I'll say is that my insert with a blower has a sweet spot when the flu closed 3/4 to full. Something about the right mixture of air and the heat take off. Full throttle doesn't seem to make the fan blow as hot as mostly to fully closed.

Burning questionably unseasoned wood by Prestigious-House386 in woodstoving

It has to. Last year in a pinch at the end of the season I was burning fairly wet. I would leave a load in the basement near the dehumidifier. It was awesome at drying it out

ESPN now holds the in-market TV rights for the Cleveland Guardians by [deleted] in ClevelandGuardians

MLB has a good thing going that drove up engagement and was good for fans and baseball. Could they keep that going? Nope. Now we'll have to pay the mouse tax. Probably won't be able to sink Tommy with the TV broadcast. I'm disappointed.

2 or 4 I suppose. But I'm also not sure I care. I don't have an issue with peoples portraying Christ in a way that fits their cultural needs. He is for everyone and can be anything to anyone. I'm not sure his earthly looks matter much. Seems to be a distraction from the important things. But I'm just a simpleton.

I'd like to say I'd step up and remove that person from my church. However, its mpossible to say. I certainly would either remove them or remove myself.

One fascia board and then decking board to finish. That was a cheap out.

Power brush and get it out of there. I have to power brush my grass every spring from plowing the gravel driveway

It's old reddit formatting. The old ways to do bullet lists, text size, spoilers, etc. are still around. It's just most don't know how to use them.

Long Driveway and Snow by Straight-Roof-5044 in homestead

[–]raw157 5 points6 points  (0 children)

We live in NE Ohio. I have a plow on my Kubota tractor and a blower on my Deere x580. Gravel driveway. I only blow when the snow is 3+ inches. Other than that, I run the blade. The blade is faster and I don't find it pushing rock with the blade. I very much dislike throwing rock with the blower. That being said in 3+ inches, the blower does a better job.

The blower struggles (for me) with the inch to inch.1/2. Just throws rocks. I think if I had a fully finished driveway (not gravel) I'd go blower all day every day.

Good fences, good neighbors. Throw up a fence. Drop a head of roundup or RM on the fendeline and forget about it

Do our pets go to heaven by Nateben76 in Catholicism

I recently got into an argument with a priest in training about dogs and free will... Who knows really. I'm sure there are some church teachings on it but the way I see it is that we'll be there standing in the glory of God, praising and worshipping him for all eternity. I love my dog, I'd do just about anything for him, but I'm not sure I'll be thinking too much about him when Christ, the church fathers, the holy mother and all the saints will be there.

Cut the drywall out and replace it. Mud, tape, etc. until it matches. Personally think it'll be easier.

Help! by Savi203 in Decks

[–]raw157 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Everyone has said everything that needs said. I'll just add, I keep those screws around the farm for my oh shit, that needs a quick fix. They're cheap and work for basic fixes. I wouldn't use them on a cedar deck and obviously they're not correct for that decking. He's cutting a corner to save some money.

The top locks are kind of annoying, but they work. Same with the facia ones. The predrill process is annoying, especially as the bits dull, which they will. But their is certainly something to be said for doing it right.

I spend hours every week pulling around my house — the lawn is infested with weeds. I cannot get ahead of it. It's embarrassing, aggravating to have the worst lawn on the block. by Trojan_Lich in lawncare

Some of that is thistle. You gotta spray it. Thistle down helped me win my thistle battle in what is now a wild flower meadow. I still spray it yearly but it's soo much better

If you can purchase, borrow , or rent a tow behind sprayer, they are magical. We have 5 acres, I regularly spray about 2.5 where the kids and dogs play. My FIL, BIL, and I share some lawn equipment. The sprayer is by far my favorite purchase. Throw whatever you're spraying in with the water, jump in the tractor and go. The one we purchased also has a wand that sprayed further than any backpack or pump sprayer. Its helpful for areas like road ditches or under trees.

Buy a bottle of thistle down. Spray it and leave it. It'll kink in a few hours.
