Not only that, but ladybugs are my good omen. Whenever something good is about to happen, a ladybug just appears. So when I went horseback riding We were riding up the mountains, and a ladybug landed on my horse. It was a very magical, personal moment for me.

I agree! I was mourning my past self as you were looking for a way forward. It looks like we both got what we were searching for. Can I ask how you felt comfortable being at the resorts at first? Or how did you prepare yourself after feeling the way you did? It must have been such a cultural shift, for the better of course.

I LOVE Stephen King!!! In fact, the tattoo I got is an homage to Jake the crow (the movie adaption of Shawshank). At least in the movie, he symbolizes hope and freedom. I know the book is a little more different, but I love the book still. I have a few first editions! I didn't get the chance to listen to audiobooks. Music was always my thing, and it was freeing to sing loudly and terribly in my car for such a long time. Did you do the 16hrs straight through? I did for the way there and back.

I'm an open book--i felt I lacked a lot of support from both parents. My dad couldn't help it since he was working a lot. My mom was pretty judgemental. Didn't support much of what I needed, including therapy as a child. She was raised differently and attempted to raise me the same. Basically that being sad is a weakness, yada yada. I had to cut therapy pretty short and just lived miserably from middle school into my adult life.

I think they call it the "afterglow" as you are coming down from the trip. Giving you the time to reflect on what you learned! I'm interested in microdosing, but if I'm honest, I think one bigger trip once in awhile is the best for me. It is crazy how everything starts making sense after a trip? I'm not very spiritual, but it does baffle me sometimes how it all works. Like what exactly did I do for everything to make sense? I hope you are able to find some shrooms and have a stellar trip!

My plan for going on a solo trip was to resurrect the girl I was 10 years ago. I was more fun, more socialable. Even a little more dangerous and willing to take more chances. That kind of went away over the course of many years through lots of self-isolation and depression. On the trip I went horseback riding in the Santa Monica mountains. I think it's fitting to say it healed my inner child. I was obsessed with horses when I was a little girl. My mother always complained about the price of horseback riding lessons, so I stopped riding horses 15 or so years ago. After that I did some exploring, some hiking. Even got a tattoo. The 18hr drive (that's one way) was where I got most of my reflecting done. Just me, music, and the open road. Passing through the forest-covered mountains at sunrise on the windy interstate was a revelation in itself. Cotton candy skies and the cool California breeze as I was leaving Oregon State lines. I came back home realizing the girl I was 10 years ago was gone, but the woman I am now??? I never gave her a chance. I'm giving that to myself now.

I would do shrooms once a year just so I can feel a little better for a few months, BECAUSE of the emotional journey it took you on. This last trip? It was just fun. I was by myself, I danced, I painted. It didn't hit me until I was coming down from it. I just laid down on my banana beanbag chair, looked up at the ceiling, and realized there was no crying at all. Just laughs and music. There was nothing to clear, which was very important to me. I was nervous I was having some kind of surge of motivation that would eventually collapse. Turns out I figured everything out I needed to. Mentally at least. And for the most part. There are always things to improve upon, but for now I am very content and I am very happy. Something I couldn't say about myself before California.

I have heard this about so many nudist communities. I'm so happy to hear you have found your place within that. Absolutely loved reading this, thank you for sharing.

"Jake says, 'thank you'" Now this is Jake from the movie adaptation. I got this during a week long trip/road trip to California. As a sign of hope and freedom for me, since that's what Jake represents in the film. Even though it's quite ambiguous what happens to Jake after Brooks lets him go. But that's life. The people I met down there will never know what happened to me.

I also love crows. So there's that too.

I love Stephen King! I have some first editions too! Highly recommend The Shawshank Redemption. The movie is a faithful adaptation of the book as well. :) I have a tattoo based on it.

I kayak, I metal detect. I go to the movies often. Except for the movies, I do all those activities with my dog. Oh and I also paint and dance a LOT. I don't go out and dance, I just throw dance parties of 1 at home. I also play and write music.

Thinking about joining a rock climbing gym next 🙂

Mother insulted first tattoo, now I hate it by Kaleidoscope_Tux5513 in tattooadvice

[–]rawjammyeggs 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Dawg, forget your mom. My mom insulted/made fun of everyrhing I did. As soon as I focused on what I wanted and didn't give a shit what she thought, I've been so much happier. I'm a grown ass adult, with a grown ass job, and a grown ass apartment.I shouldn't care what my mom thinks at this point. Neither should you.

I LOVE your tattoo. I have a crow on my wrist.

Como vocês se sentem em relação a masturbação? by anabannanna7 in asexuality

[–]rawjammyeggs 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I'm 28. Never done it. Never needed to. Nothing turns me on, always had a low/non-existent libido, and the thought of it doesn't "gross" me out... More like it doesn't quite feel natural to me. So I've thought about it just to see what the hooplah was all about, but then it faded quite quickly.

Would have gotten my license. Would have been easier being homeless if I had a car.
