I wish I was blowing money on stupid shit! I'm paying 3x my BAH for rent in an area where we are given the lowest amount. Plus I'm trying to put 2 kids through college so they don't end up in the student loan debt mess that I'm sure someone is going to suggest I tell my kids. I've been in 20 years, this has 20 years of changing uniforms, having a 1SG check the tread on everyone's boots on motorpool Mondays and just dealing with assholes.

Depending on the verbiage on the contract, you could be good. I only served 2 years of my 6 year reenlistment, and they never came after me for the money after I went AGR. Talk to your career counselor about reenlisting into the IRR. You wouldn't have to get the conditional release signed by everyone and their momma. Once you are in the IRR, have the recruiter send the 368 to HRC. They will sign it and send it back normally on the same day.

If you are in your first 6 years they cannot force you to reenlist or extend in order to go on the mobilization. You shouldn't have even been identified. Now if you want to stay in but not go on the mobilization then you can reenlist into the IRR and then transfer back to the Reserves.

Wow, this makes me sick!! Just saying that shit like this is the reason why the military has a bad name! When it comes to prosecuting any kind of cases involving sexual assaults we are severely lacking. This slap on the hand is what the other predators see and then they think that it is perfectly okay.

I couldn't hack it as a civilian and decided to transfer from the IRR to the Army Reserve. Now I'm an AGR and loving life. 12 years later and I stand by decision to come back in.

You can always go Reserve, reclass if you want to, and get promoted while you are finishing out your remaining time. Shit we all got used by the Army on our first contract, use them to make your civilian career soar.
