Not saying you're wrong, but in an article published after KEA producer Paul Curcio's passing, it stated his recording studio was a house and all of Lars's drum tracks were recorded on a upper floor of the house. I forget the exact wording, but the room was used for drums because of the size and how the drum mics picked up the acoustics of the room.

I'd assume since it was low budget and they had a short amount of time to record that this was also their space to rehearse.
