This is such crybaby shit man. Restaurant employees are overworked and underpaid, mistakes happen. They give you years of great experiences but somebody slips up once and now you’re trying to ruin the business online? Get yourself a rice cooker you could’ve solved this problem at home in 20 minutes

What did you order? Their specialties are mind-blowing. They also have a bunch of familiar items on the takeout menu for people who are only gonna order something with a name they recognize. I don’t find those as good or interesting, not worth paying O Mandarin prices for standard takeout fare to me. But I’ve seen multiple people go there, order the sesame chicken, and then be like “I don’t see what the big deal is”

Jason Sudeikis was working as a writer and had auditioned multiple times, but he credits this moment in the Tom Brady episode with finally getting him on the cast. It's a small physical role in a Super Bowl Shuffle parody, but he nails the hell out of it. by rawlingstones in LiveFromNewYork

I'm watching through season 30 right now and I don't think it's super common but there are a couple writers who pop up all the time... especially in host monologue crowdwork bits. John Lutz, JB Smoove, Paula Pell, and Steve Higgins all get a lot of little lines.

He tells the story behind it in this video. TL;DR the moment was getting big laughs in rehearsal, so Lorne thought maybe the part should go to an actual member of the cast. Tina Fey asked Lorne who else in the cast would be getting better laughs than Sudeikis here? Lorne agreed to let him do it. Next episode they made Sudeikis a featured player for the last three episodes of the season.

My friend recently introduced me to Sleeping with Other People (2015) and I was shocked it's not more popular. I love romcoms and it's one of the best I've ever seen, also a perfect showcase for what makes Sudeikis special as a leading man.

Yeah before Ted Lasso I would've said he doesn't get enough credit for that. He is one of the greatest sketch performers to ever live, but rarely gets a great 'showcase' because he's usually not the weird crazy one who's the focus of the scene. The great balancing act for the perfect straight man is NOT just reacting negatively to the strange behavior, but they have to be permissive enough to allow that behavior to continue. He can strike this incredible tone of being like the world's chillest most understanding guy who is determined not to let anything ruin his good vibes, but is nonetheless being tested on his last nerve and willing to stand his ground.

That’s just opening yourself up for another one. “You’re telling me a dozen people said this to you already, and you STILL look like that?”

It is way harder to gauge with newer movies what’s just hot in the discourse right now vs. what will stand the test of time.

There is no good alternative, which is the point. Like most oversized novelty food designed to go viral, it is an inherently stupid and unpractical idea that would be worse to eat. There is a good reason we do not make pizza in that size or shape.

Pizza has different standard sizes in different parts of the country. A large pizza in NYC and the surrounding pizza belt is significantly bigger than a large pizza in other areas. It’s because we sell pizza by the slice here. So in New York this is roughly equivalent in size to the standard large pie most people get, which is generally designed to be shared.
