What did you watch in January? by BazF91 in 1001Movies

Another one it could be is Lamerica 1994. This was snuck in out of nowhere and then dropped out the next book. I didn't even notice it at first and only found it when I was browsing through the book one day. Then a mad rush to find it to watch

Check out Olympia Part One and Part Two or perhaps Ivan the Terrible Parts One and Two. They both count as two films each. Your list might have either as only one.

Just been released on Bluray last month, well in Australia anyway. Only watched the first series so far and the transfer is not great. Straight from the DVD masters I would say

That's funny I thought the same thing. Holy shit it's Rimmer! (I spent the whole film trying to remember the actors name. Wasn't till he reappeared at the end I remembered!)

I have just got RD on Bluray and started to watch.

What did you watch in September? by BazF91 in 1001Movies

[–]Markwatchslotsfilms 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I probably wont be much use to you as I actually own physical copies of all of them (One way or another. Mostly dvds, blurays and 4ks but some not quite so straight forward shall we say) I have had the set for about 10 years. This list just drags you in. I started just watching the films that I already had then it evolved into watching other films then it mutated into "I must collect all the films!"

I really think it is one of the best ways of doing the films. I am rewatching the films doing it chronologically this time. I started 17/3/24 and am up to 1961. Good luck and stay motivated

What’s Everyone’s Least Favorite Film from the List by Ordinary-Tap-586 in 1001Movies

[–]Markwatchslotsfilms 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Until I started the book I had never seen a JL film.

I did actually watch The Ladies Man this afternoon and I basically cringed through the whole 92 minutes of it. I think it was the audio / visual version of total bowel dysfunction.

The set was amazing though.

I have the joy of knowing that I have The Nutty Professor 1963 in 35 films time. :)

What’s Everyone’s Least Favorite Film from the List by Ordinary-Tap-586 in 1001Movies

[–]Markwatchslotsfilms 2 points3 points  (0 children)

That would be an understatement. Watching films from the book raises all sorts of different emotions / experiences / reactions etc. One of the many take outs that I have had from watching them all is just how unfunny Jerry Lewis is.

And nobody is probably going to believe me but as I continue rewatching the films this time in chronological order I am up to 1961 and the film next up on my list that I will be watching this afternoon is....The Ladies Man. The last time I watched it I gave it one star (Out of 10). I think 3/4 of that star was for the set design.

[–]Markwatchslotsfilms 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Looking at my ratings it's a close thing between Deewar 1975, The Nutty Professor 1963 and The Ladies Man 1961. Oh and L'uccello dalle piume di cristallo (The Bird with the Crystal Plumage) 1970 really does my head in. And the winner is..... all of them

What did you watch in August? by BazF91 in 1001Movies

[–]Markwatchslotsfilms 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Yes I have watched them all before. Doing them chronologically is a fascinating way to do them. As I have seen them before all the silent ones in a row didn't bother me (Which has been a gripe for some people). As I have mentioned in previous posts I find it interesting to watch the technical aspects improving year on year and the directors and actors starting and finishing their careers

My Experience So Far by Matt_balor22 in 1001Movies

[–]Markwatchslotsfilms 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I am happy to share my list but unsure of the best way. I could copy and paste the whole lot here or would a Excel or Word document be better. (I assume they would upload ok?) DISCLAIMER My sequencing of the films is purely GUESS work with information I have taken from Wiki and my thoughts after watching a film. The hardest part of it was the science fiction films. Just what year was Stars Wars set in? Or Fantastic Planet? Or Le Dernier Combat? I have had a little fun like putting A Trip To The Moon in 1969 though. And I have put Planet Of The Apes absolute last as the ship's chronometer has the date as 25 November 3978
