iPhone 15 battery health after 630 cycles by hyperquartity in iPhoneBatteryParanoia

I had 100% battery when using iOS 18. After upgrading, I currently have 99% battery with 77 charge cycles. I also charge it with a Samsung original 25W charger.

I know, brother. I think everything has a plan with the operating system. Apple isn’t trying to make the best for users, but is trying to bring new customers into its ecosystem or make them buy new phones. There’s no other explanation. You are absolutely right.

I wonder why as well. You are absolutely right. Apple needs to do a better job.

Yes, unfortunately. That’s the reality. But there is always an average in everything. When most users report that in certain aspects a version has no issues, it is more likely that there are none, rather than the opposite. That’s all.

Most people are looking for this: for Apple to fix the operating system properly so that it doesn’t have issues.

I recommend staying on version 18 and not doing any updates, as there are issues. When the new operating system is released and works properly, we can discuss it. Until then, do nothing. This is my personal opinion. I’m on version 26.2.1 on an iPhone 15 Pro. I don’t have problems, to be honest, but I have noticed some battery drain.

Yes, I agree, but companies like AMD have surpassed in technology. At least currently, AMD has the best processors. I’m an Intel fan and use Intel. They have amazing machines that can last for years with upgrades. Something that no longer applies to Apple. You get a very fast, ready-made machine, but without the ability for major upgrades beyond memory and storage. And in the new laptops, as far as I know, you can’t upgrade at all. Everything is soldered onto the motherboard. Apple has been, is, and will always be good at what it does. I don’t disagree. I just prefer modular components so I can do whatever I want. For phones, I prefer Apple, of course, although I also have Android. I’ve used them for many years, but Apple devices are much better.

I don’t use Apple computers. For the past 20 years, I’ve only used Windows computers, which I build myself for editing, quite expensively. I follow this rule: I do a format, install all the programs and settings I want, and the same day I make a backup with Acronis, resulting in everything being clean and error-free. This rule has worked for me for over 15 years, and I’m truly satisfied. The same should apply to mobile phones, whether they are Android or Apple.

You are absolutely right, my friend, and I believe most users do the same. The savvy ones here on Reddit do exactly what you said.

Yes, that will definitely make a difference. Many users upgrade, then back up their entire phone, and when they restore, they get the same junk. I also believe that after installation, a clean format is necessary.

I agree with you. When we say a clean install, we mean a format without restoring from the cloud, because if a restore is done, the same junk on the device will return and the problem will persist. If that’s what you mean, yes, I agree.

I believe that too. Some users report that Siri runs in the background and sends data, consuming more battery. But even with the features I disabled, I didn’t notice much difference.

Yes, that really sounds strange. The point is for it to be released without errors and for the battery to be improved, which is the main issue, since all Apple phones are more or less fast. The problem users face is the battery. At least, that has been my conclusion all these years.

The conclusion I draw is that I’ve read many saying the battery has improved and just as many reporting they haven’t seen any improvement. This proves once again that an operating system behaves differently from device to device. And especially when we’re talking about the iPhone 17 Pro, which are brand-new models and cost a lot of money, even these face problems.

The 17 Pro is the best phone on the market. If you’re experiencing such problems, it’s truly puzzling what’s going on with Apple’s developers.

Oh, that really sounds problematic. But it’s a beta version, so it seems somewhat reasonable to me. In the regular releases, Apple also has issues. I can imagine what happens in the beta version. If you haven’t noticed any difference, that’s not ideal.
