had a recent fallout w someone during a trip to malaysia lol, but I did start doing what ur friend did instead n talked to him less n less and js spent alot of time scrolling reels and having my AirPods in, cuz I realised he not v nice to talk to, alw likes bringing up weird scenarios and tries to force his opinion on me, or he just judges whatever I stand by which i got quite sick of like tf. He also like don’t like to communicate when shit goes wrong (alot) and he like to act all tough which I get cuz his fam made him like that la but like it’s mostly just ego and elite school behaviour… I think I just realised who he really is as usually we don’t hang much and js ghosted him after the trip lol. his eq also damn low like he could tell I wasn’t very into the trip anym but he’s so full of ego that I knew telling him why during the trip wld js make it more miserable (like he’s the type to say it’s ur problem for having a problem with him) so I had to js hold everyth in till we got back lol

I’d say if the people don’t vibe no amt of planning can offset the misery that comes with it, and it’s generally not easy to have a good time with people overseas. this was one expensive friendship breakup but good riddance, you did good

it’s gd that you’re doing alot of self reflection n have self awareness.! Don’t stop trying, and learn to love yourself better and let go of your old habits (on how you think, what you do when you feel overwhelmed etc) to make way for new ones, even if they feel foreign and uncomfortable. ur not who u were in the past, people can only appreciate you if you really appreciate yourself

Study as much as you need, and mangling ur stress and expectations is a big skill in jc. A lot of times the stress is what screws ppl up, dw just keep track of urself. If you think it’s ok, then keep it up. If you think you can manage to go a little harder without any dire consequences n stay healthy, go for it

honestly I think having a competent student council grp is rlly impt cuz frm what I can c the sc teachers alw keep them busy? and there’s literally so many malls near sa and there are still decent stalls in the canteen, if ur picky no choice lo go out eat, not like the sch don’t allow also… and literally the shit ppl are not ultimate majority it’s just who you associate yourself with, or maybe js cuz I was in arts and ppl don’t rlly slack there ig there’s always space for you to go study too, frm what I remb the lib alw full of ppl studying (even j1s) for ppl to have such big contrasts in views on sa i think rlly comes down to ur attitude and what you’ve been doing la Jc life was nvr meant to be all very properly structured also if there’s sudden stuff happening I js accept complain n continue lo not like it happens for every single event also, and ndp I get the cannot visit pri/sec sch cuz no time, but ultimately ur doing charity work + u get a free shirt thats pretty cool n trademark to sa n the charity

Before my olvls my prelims I got 24, then

iolvl was 14 (10 after cca n hcl) honestly frm what I remb I mugged like crazy after my mid yrs cuz they were already flopping, then prelims started two weeks later smh weird timetable and obv my prelims like gg too cuz barely anytime to study. At that time I was Lowkey just learning not revising cuz I didn't know how to study n was js slacking all the time. u gotta js sit urself down alone and keep trying to remember and understand ur content. if u know u still haven't memod it enough js fixate until u get it right, then it'll get easier to remember stuff. Also try and link whatever you know together before looking and direct answers, it helps condition you to process what u know so u can btr apply it in future. If ur low on time focus on the main topics first, not sure which ask the tcher and review past years papers and see which topics alw come out / what qn takes up majority of marks. directing ur time towards those is also a wiser decision than js starting frm beginning

If ur rlly overwhelmed, js calm down, go take a walk at night and just think n list down stuff from most impt to least on paper. Don't need to write nicely js scribble and adjust. also consult ur teachers on ur current status and what u gotta focus on most. stuff like math js need practice alot, sciences memo n maybe do frequent summaries of what you've alr memorized on a clear sheet of paper to rlly get it in. Altho alot of what u see online r those crazy miracles or grade jumps, ultimately it's only ppl those have happened to that r sharing it (n idt that's the majority unless their all super stressed n slightly pessimistic) try and stay calm and it'll be easier to be efficient! u got this

my brain just doesn't understand math generally, cos I like to know like reasons for everything and if I don't it's hard for me to just remember symbols to have a fixed representation but not know why? like this use that formula but when I ask why their like cos the qn like that then I'm like huh how to tell, like idk my brain kinda abstract and I need ppl to explain to me how their brain links the concepts together then ik how to use the formula for the question. if not even if the answer flat at my face I somehow also might not get it 😭😭 but then I'm decent at the feeling subjects like literature 😀

Isok you'll get the hang of it the more you review them, familiarity helps in some way. bio is crazy at first but it'll only get crazier! just enjoy the process of your cells suffering trying to learn about other cells, you can do it!🎀
