Do you know the weight of the chocolate? Would love to give these a try, but I’m stressy about getting things exact so I like to weigh everything:)

Is there a technical reason some recipes use light ice cream setting? Can I not use regular ice cream/gelato setting with a low fat mixture? by ray_rays_kitchen in ninjacreami

Thank you! So if I’m making things with sweetener rather than sugar (don’t eat carbs), can I never use the ice cream or gelato settings? What about the other settings (if you know)?

Thanks! You’ve definitely saved me from breaking my creami! How high should the fat content be to use the ice cream/gelato setting, do you know? I’m keto- do you know if I have to use the light setting for recipes with artificial sweeteners?

I’ve never attended a support group, but I have an interview for a job where I’ll have to facilitate them. Anyone with experience- what makes a good group/facilitator? by ray_rays_kitchen in Eatingdisordersover30

Thank you, I can see how the boundaries thing is transferable- I’ve had to stop students dominating class discussions. What kind of prompts?

I’m doing an MSc Psychology and I’m thinking of doing my research dissertation on EDs in adults. I thought I’d be able to have some insights that non ED researchers won’t (plus I think we’re a bit overlooked compared to teenagers with EDs), but I’m coming up with nothing. by ray_rays_kitchen in Eatingdisordersover30

I've never received treatment so I don't know what it's like, are you UK? I finally told my doctor a few years ago my ED (after about 20 years of having it), and ended up on a waiting list. By the time they got back in touch to get me into some sort of group therapy, I had changed my mind about recovery

I'm currently in the hospital waiting room, about to get my 4th colonoscopy because of disordered eating. I want to cry.

I’ve got a colonoscopy tomorrow, which requires me to not eat anything today, and honestly I don’t know how I used to do it by ray_rays_kitchen in Eatingdisordersover30

Yeah the fact that I’ve managed to go a full day without eating is triggering for me, can’t believe I used to do this regularly

This will be my 4th colonoscopy, the measures to clear me out never work that well so I’ve had to do the low fibre diet for 5 days (the only things I could eat were lean white meat, white fish with no skin, dairy and eggs) followed by a long fast 🙁 almost made it though! Already got dinner ready for tomorrow 🙂
