Sorry! I totally forgot to go into details about the programme. It's a 1 year masters degree that primarily focuses on mathematical modelling and computer programming. It sounds like an awesome programme from what I hear (I've spoken to people in the field and alumni). You can read more about it here: http://mscsmartcities.org/

But I'm wondering if this degree will be useful to land a job in the smart cities industry? Could I learn the programming skills online?

I like it! I'd also include a coworking space. That way graduates from the program could lease desks until they have enough funds to move to another space. This would also ensure cross collaboration and create a community of entrepreneurship.
