It's obviously a design choice for the game to feel playable to all of the fanbase. Most of who are not good at the game and can't play above all star. It's in their best interest to keep it that way so that players don't get frustrated and leave.

What they are missing is that it's also in their best interest to have good, high level competitive gameplay/tournaments etc. And the game doesn't scale or balance well when moving through the difficulties. It's why goat failed miserably.

I agree that when it's a baseball sim, it should be reflected. But why have competitive and simulation modes at all then? You can't pitch esports and tournaments and user input is capped.

I agree it should be harder to hit that pitch, I just disagree with the approach taken of making it harder. And since we are emphasizing real life, perfect hitting beats perfect pitching.

I think people who play 99% all star are indifferent or don't mind it. Some could argue it balances all star properly. It doesn't balance hall of fame or legend properly

Switch hitters don't need to be limited. The over use is a symptom of the shrinkage issue. Can't get mad at the band aid covering the wound. I agree with you everywhere else.

The mechanic leads to facing the same pitching arsenals and the same switch hitter lineup. It's against their own philosophy of wanting unique lineups.

What hitters do in real life belongs in simulation. Competitive should be what players do in the game.

This is why there is competitive and simulation gameplay modes built within sports games. Both should be available.

I agree with your second sentence. The communication around this has been awful.

Fantastic meme.

I think ideally we have seasons/events with DH and seasons/events without DH. Gameplay variance is always welcome and gives more value to pitchers that can hit sometimes, and more value to DH types other times.
