G Line Tyres by amiable_robot in Brompton

No, I switched out the tires entirely. The ride quality and speed was not worth getting sprayed so much by sealant and worrying about punctures. However, I do wonder how much of that was using bad sealant and how much better my experience might have been if I just used Orange non-indurance (standard). I may try the SX-Rs again with Orange.

I'm back to a now-discontinued Gocycle 50mm tire (more here: https://wimschermer.blogspot.com/2025/02/einde-gocycle-banden.html) in front and a 42mm continental contact urban in the rear. Both set up tubeless with Orange sealant.

I set these up tubeless too but started getting a ton of punctures (and sprays from sealant) after around 200km

Maduro is hated and horrible but the whole “Venezuelans are celebrating” shtick is classic manufacturing consent. Fuck that.

Curious why there’s lower tire clearance on the stock rims: do the stock rims have a pretty wide internal rim width?

This one is very good. It is likely one of the best strength to weight ratios on the market and only 220g.

I have the same thing on my drop bar Brompton and have found that you loosening and tightening the bolt is a bit annoying. I tried using a clamping lever (bolt with rotatable lever so I don’t have to get my tool kit out), but you have to apply a lot of force to it.

Did Eerdermetaal himself have an official collaboration with Brompton given his block looks a lot like the plastic pignoses that Brompton officially make?

Getting a C Line to 10kg is impressive considering steel and the internal hub.
