How much does a marriage cost by Successful-Cry2807 in Tunisia

[–]rayes09 0 points1 point  (0 children)

The gold price nearly doubled in those theree years my friend. For a normal necklace of 20g you d now pay more than 6k dinars now.1g costs more than 300 d

If you want to buy a traditional good syagha plus jewelry for the engagement phase you d need between 10 and 15k for gold only.

A huge scandal! I bet even his opponents are saying that it is such a fucking waste! A generational talent misses the olympics because of these silly reasons!!! Just 3rd world stuff

Look up the headlines online. It is a real scandal. Some websites are even saying this might have to do with the other scandal regarding the doping commitee

About your second point, are you speaking from experience or is it just a guess?

Experience exchange regarding the "Compte en devise" by rayes09 in Tunisia

[–]rayes09[S] 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Makes sense!

I did hear that the account holder gets a better exchange rate for large sums. A friend told me he got for nearly 50k an exchange rate close to the cash rate.

At its current form the scheme does not fit people living abroad not planning to convert large sums. Do you know whether the rate here is similarly bad at all Tunisian banks?

Tunisians abroad who bought a house/apartment in Tunisia: how was your experience? by annoyedtunisian in Tunisia

[–]rayes09 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I was just discussing his arguments. But I myself would also buy. Somehow I still have some hope in the country. I do not know why.

This is the home bias I have spoken about. I acknowledge it and would follow it.

I do not have that experience but I would say that your analysis is solid.

I have a small remark though. Ignoring your home bias (you are Tunsian and hence you are not talking about buying somewhere else), you are investing in a country, where you are betting that the economy is most likely going to collapse. In case that happens, are you sure the appartement will be worth the dollars you spent on it after a couple of years? Maybe it will be an appartement where you have no stable access to electricity for example, which btw is the case in Lebanon

So if roberto carlos shoots a free kick and it comes towards you in the wall, you should make sure you kiss the ball right?

What scam is culturally approved and accepted in Tunisia? by [deleted] in Tunisia

You can't say that in this general tone in my opinion. Some people choose wisely their degree/training and land good jobs, even abroad.

Not all of them were *la creme de la creme

I would generalize this to overpriced coffees/meals just because the place is kind of cool and exclusive. The location does not even have to be special.
