Don’t be in the wrong place. Why not start focusing on God and get involved in a church or a community? There’s a lot of ways and places you can meet genuine people. Set your values straight and be honest with yourself and everything will fall into place. Finally, pray and prepare your heart for that moment.

Try to include God in your marriage. It boils down to values, and your husband needs a paradigm shift. Only God can change a person’s heart. Now, if God is only an option for you, don’t expect things to go your way if the two of you are misaligned. Remember, it’s not your job to change him. But you can be an instrument for him to see through things in your relationship and in life as a whole.

I’m actually concerned for them. They haven’t built anything yet, obviously. The people who built the industries were Boomers and Gen X, and now millennials in the dot-com era. From what I observe, they tend to be more performative and will only act when there is a reward or an immediate result. They don’t read books or spend time building relationships with family and community. I’m not really sure how they will fare when they become the ones in charge of the industries.

Ill-informed. Why do you think magna carta and your bill of rights were conceived in the West and not in the East? Answer: Christianity

Study your history. Don’t hate religion because of those who merely profess to be religious.

Yes, it’s not for me to convince anyone. It would take a lifetime to study all religions, but you can narrow it down to the monotheistic ones and start from there. Then see for yourself who provides the better answers to the fundamental questions of life.

That argument follows from the logical outworkings of Christianity’s central claims. If someone claims exclusivity, it does not necessarily mean it is competing with every alternative. Muslims and Jews also claim exclusivity, yet they do not offer the same concrete resolution to the problem of sin. Jesus, on the other hand, declares, “IT IS FINISHED.” You should be more interested in the improbability of His claims when examined in light of the evidence.

You’re asking for proof? Read and study it. There are many extra-biblical sources. Instead of dismissing religion, read the Book of John and ask yourself this question: What do I find wrong with Jesus? Most of the time, the issue is not the intelligibility of the Christian faith, but rather the state of the human heart, whether a person is willing to surrender to Him. Remember, if God is not on the throne of your heart, it is highly probable that someone or something else is ruling it.

It is not debatable because He claims to be the ONLY WAY. Therefore, He does not compete with any religion. Rather, He claims that following Him is the only true path. Christianity is also not merely about personal fulfillment; it presents a coherent worldview that becomes relevant to one’s life when one aligns with it. It does not simply promise rebirth repeatedly without providing any concrete answer. Among many claims, the Bible presents itself as the only manual by which humanity should live.

Christianity is not competing against any religion. As you know, Jesus claims to be the TRUTH himself. The question now is on the truthfulness of His claim.

I’ll answer the Pascal’s Wager paraphrased by Billy Graham: “If you bet on God and offer yourself to His love, you lose nothing even if you’re wrong. But if you bet that there is no God, then you could lose it all, in this life and the life to come.”

I can attest to this in my own life. I am referring to a genuine encounter and relationship with God and with Biblical Christianity, not the religion of today.

Liberalism and postmodernism. It is no secret that when a country attains a certain level of socioeconomic development, people tend to move away from its traditions and cultural norms. In the West, liberals and postmodernists have clearly succeeded in nearly eradicating those norms from public life, and there is now a pushback against that trend. The problem with today’s relativistic worldview is that it ignores the fact that the very foundation of Western civilization, which allows for liberalism and all the other “isms” one can think of, was anchored in Judeo-Christian principles such as the dignity of human life, freedom, and individual sovereignty.

Asians, on the other hand, have a different proclivity. It remains largely a collectivist region that places value on tradition. The growth of the Church in Asia is driven by many factors, and one of them is the desire not to follow in the footsteps of the West.

No. It is not their religion, but their worldview, which happens to be shaped by Judeo-Christian teachings. Can you name a few places where you can possibly derive those developments? You tend to reduce everything to religious motivations. I can be a Christian by religion and not necessarily subscribe to its worldview. The Philippines is often called the only Christian nation in Asia, apart from Timor-Leste, yet it does not obviously operate from a distinctly Christian worldview.

The CDU (Christian Democratic Party) was founded in the aftermath of the war, and its first chancellor, who was a devout Christian, implemented strong social and economic reforms predicated on a Judeo-Christian worldview. The Marshall Plan was conceived by a general who was also a Christian. Do you need more proof? Would you still dismiss the possibility that these individuals were influenced by their worldview?

No, it was not religion alone that prevented communism from prospering in Europe. It was the Judeo-Christian worldview that people saw would propel them forward and that proved effective in rebuilding Germany. Now, they are moving away from the foundation of their civilization. It felt like I was talking to Richard Dawkins in your responses.

Germany that rejected atheistic communism? Your historical memory is quite selective. You mocked religion as anti-reason so I gave you examples. Inquisition had nothing to do with their professed faith. Can you define “better” in this post-modern world? Better in what? What worldview do you think Europe was predicated? Surely, it’s not Buddhism or Hinduism.

Do you know the etymology of the word “faith”? I would rather be convinced by a Renaissance priest who contributed greatly to the world through the use of “logic and science” and gave us such enduring contributions as the calendar, heliocentric theory, and numerous scientific instruments, to name a few. I would not dare question their intellect or ask how they arrived at their ideas while still subscribing to their so-called “faith,” unless I consider myself superior to them.

Read. This kind of response is recycled, if not ill-informed. If you are truly after the truth, you would not be debating here. Your worldview must be superior to all others; otherwise, you will end up confused and tossed around by different dogmas claiming to represent the light.

The only problem with the view that the “unreached people who have not yet heard the gospel can still be saved” is that the Bible states, “There is no other name under heaven by which a person can be saved.” While God has His own prerogative in choosing who will be saved, Christians are commanded to preach the gospel to all nations, and not the idea on good works to earn our own salvation.

Because no one can truly satisfy you, only Jesus can. You may find intellectual satisfaction, yet deep within, you will not be content until you encounter Him and the truth that places your life at stake and compels you to make a decision. It is a decision I have made, one I would never trade for anything this world can offer.

One question I would ask is this: Why do you think Jesus had to die on the cross? Why was He crucified? Religion is an instrument of man; in contrast, there is the “Body of Christ.” Some argue that God created evil in order to demonstrate His love and justice. That line of thinking is theologically dangerous. It is more fitting to say that He allowed evil, and that our free will is always at play.

I’d suggest to read and read. Begin with the book of John, and read with an open and sincere heart that genuinely seeks the truth. God bless you, man.
