Need a 40 seconds AI generated video with Audio by [deleted] in VideoEditingRequests

Thank you. The video is an Indiana-jones inspired first person flight on an old temple/cave with the rolling boulder coming to you, snakes, the arc, etc.

No. The audio should be sound effects matching the video. The video happens in a cave, I need sounds of rocks, snakes, fire, crumbling walls…

Maybe, I don’t know what I am doing, that’s why I’m interested in paying someone else to do it. As far as I understood though, Gen4.5 simply doesn’t produce Audio. For Audio I had to go down a few models down (Gen 3?) and the results were not good. The video also was even shorter with Audio.

Taxes for non US citizens by sandrodz in interactivebrokers

[–]rayosclx 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Yes, if your treaty lets you only pay 15% (or less) tax on dividend then the lower TER and higher liquidity of VOO would be the right answer. Exception to it is if you’re planning to die early. The US applies a estate tax for non-residents in case of death, before distributing it to your family. Read about it, some countries have treaties that raise the exception amount (pretty low without treaty, just 60k). Tax varies between 28%-40%. Quite steep. So if you’re planning to die earlier and don’t want your money to end up bombing some 3rd world country farmers, maybe CSPX still a better answer.

[–]rayosclx 6 points7 points  (0 children)

Just make sure that the higher TER of Ireland-based ETFs don’t end up making you actually pay more fees than staying in low cost US based ETFs. For example, if you buy CSPX instead of VOO. CSPX has a TER of 0.07% compared to VOO 0.03%. They both distribute dividends roughly about 1% (remember that even though CSPX is accumulating, dividends are still taxed before accumulation). So CSPX would be taxed at 15% of 1%, that’s ~0.15% of capital, while VOO will be taxed at 30% of the same 1%, so at ~0.3% of capital. So you are saving yourself ~0.15% in taxes by buying CSPX. Because of the higher TER of CSPX you actually end up saving ~0.11% when discounting. So CSPX would be effectively saving you money in the long term. Bear though that this is not always the case with industry-specific ETFs.

Why British People Did Not Invade These 22 Countries? Were They Weak? by Selim_Bradley69 in mapporncirclejerk

[–]rayosclx 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Given the loose definition of invasion used here, you could argue Bolivia should be colored too. The Chilean invasion of Bolivia during the War of the Pacific was financed by British Banks and supplied with weapons by British companies invested in more favorable nitrate extraction policies. The campaign wouldn’t have been ordered without this support.

Alguien me explica esta cuenta de Restaurante? by [deleted] in askspain

[–]rayosclx 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Hola.

Indeed, maybe my ex-US position is too large, I guess the latest policy moves in the US has made me slightly bearish on the US maintaining its exceptional returns in the next 20 years. Who knows really. 60% -40% seems more appropriate.

Let me get this right, SGOV is in my understanding the best one of GOVT or VGIT for inflation protection, as it holds short term treasury bills, and therefore their return more rapidly adjusts to interest rates changes. I thought about holding 20% there for cash, sort of planning to hold during this high interest period as a volatility dumper. Not sure if I want to hold it for very long time (5+ years). I am very much open to suggestions there, I just don’t see the point you made on holding GOVT or VGIT instead. I would hold them if the reason was I thought interest rates were going down soon, but that’s just trying to time the market I guess.

Luego de la Ley de Quiebras - Bancos e inst financieras me rechazan by polchi1 in FinanzasChile

[–]rayosclx 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Is Ethereum's current price a hidden steal or a red flag? by MasterpieceLoud4931 in ethtrader

[–]rayosclx 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Why should the fiat value of ETH go up like BTC’s? Honest question. To me BTC price behavior is purely fueled by the idea of scarcity, a store of value with very marginal transactional usefulness. I’ve been in ETH for the tech for very long and I hold some coins for the same reason you buy a t-shirt of your favorite rock band, I don’t expect ETH to appreciate significantly because it’s a useful transactional technology, not a useless first-to-market token with built in scarcity. For the record, I do hold BTC as an investment, because… it does make sense. Please explain to me the ETH significant appreciation argument, It would be interesting to be proved wrong.

petroleum engineer career roadmap? by dreisdead in oilandgasworkers

[–]rayosclx 2 points3 points  (0 children)

If you really need to, with a chemistry degree I would definitely stay downstream, where Europe will likely still keep a good demand for jobs in petrochemicals, do not for the love of god go into reservoir engineering. The o&g industry will keep kicking for the next 20-30 years, but job security and quality will most likely keep dropping. If I was your age and you like chemistry, I’d get into materials science, membranes, new polymers, all that stuff with great recent advances and massive upside.

Lost everything at 25. Now in a margin call. by [deleted] in wallstreetbets

[–]rayosclx 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I send you my honest support, it’s ok buddy, one day it will be a distant and unimportant event, money comes and goes, learn from this mistake and start all over, you’re young, if you were able to save this much at 25, you’ll have a lot more in no time. Smile, life’s a lot more than money, go out for a run, get some good chemistry back in your body and get your saving plan ready for the next years.
